Olazabel Strike Earns Pro Stars 1-0 Result Over Woodbridge Strikers 07/18/2016, 6:30pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff Pro Stars FC came at east division leaders Woodbridge Strikers with a vengeance in the matchweek 12 closing match, earning a 1-0 win after a second half Erick Olazabel (75') strike. Pro Stars clean sheet was claimed by keeper Alessandro Famele. "We came back after the break and wanted to pick up where we left off with pressuring them immediately after we lost possession, not letting them play and settle by completing passes in midfield," said Olazabel. "On the offensive side we just wanted to keep the ball and swing it side-to-side and wait for the opening and I think that's exactly how we got the goal." "I received the ball from the left side and switched it to the right and I just picked up the rebound inside of the box." Woodbridge's Nicholas Chiarot (90') was dismissed late in the match after preventing a sure Pro Stars goal from reaching its target with an outstretched hand, but Strikers manager John Scarlato said the team left too little to too late. "Pro Stars came out from the first whistle and worked hard as a team," he said. "They simply kept going and going and that's the way the game went." "Truthfully, I think the guys thought it would be an easy win for them, and they held back and held back and it caught up to them. They couldn't catch up after that. My advice to the boys would be that every game is an important game. They should be preparing properly and coming here for the win." Pro Stars have recently brought in a new head coach, Hrvoje Perkovic, and have gone undefeated in four matches. "It's been an interesting transition to the new coaching," said Olazabel. "I think the new coach is bringing in a lot of energy, and he's expecting a lot from us individually and as a team." "I guess he's just giving us that energy and confidence that we weren't feeling in the first couple games of the season," he concluded. "Now we're just putting it all together on the field and we've been undefeated in four games so it's really good."
