Durham United FA men emerged from an ill-tempered matchweek 12 fixture againt
North Mississauga Panthers with all three points, showing the team's growing
maturity by keeping composure and registering goals instead of discipline
on the match summary.

"It's a message we've given them all year, that's it important to keep their
emotions in check," said Durham head coach, Sanford Carabin. "Once they
start to lose their emotions, then they start to focus on other things,
so it's not a new thing for us."

"If this was a game at the start of the year, I might be saying something
different, we might have been playing with nine guys, but I think over
the course of the year so far the guys realize that they can't afford
to lose their focus," he added.

"I was fairly confident that no one wouldn't lose it today because we've
been harping on it for months."

All the goals arrived in the second half, with Durham's
Christian Moncrieffe (52', 58') scoring a brace, and Shaq Agard (72')
and Eddie Lay (83') getting a goal each.

"The performance is the biggest thing, the points will come if you
perform well," added Carabin. "We didn't do too bad in the first half,
and I told them that at half-time, and we knew how to defend their
forward but switched off."

"We made some adjustments with personnel and position, and asked them
to push the ball further up-field and try and get in behind their
back-line more and thankfully it worked out."

North Mississauga's Lee-Victor Massunda (80') pulled one back for the
west division team, but it was too little too late to catalyze
a comeback.

"We have got to do a better job with game management, which we didn't
do in the second half today, and I think that cost us the game,"
said North Miss assistant coach, John Yacou.

"We could have got more out of this match as we came out the first half
really flying."

"I'm a bit disappointed in the lads in terms of the discipline factor,
I think they could have handled certain situations much better,"
he added. "We had to pull out some players due to the cards and such,
and full credit to Durham - they did very well."

"We have a number of things to work on at the training pitch,
and one thing we need to have a word about is the subject
of sportsmanship. That is what the game is about and I don't think
they portrayed that at the end of the match."
