Blue Devils Claim All Three Points After 4-2 Result Over Windsor 07/04/2016, 6:00pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff Windsor Stars appeared to have the better of Oakville Blue Devils in matchweek eleven after Noah Pio (38') put the away side 1-0 up before the half-time break, and Celso Carapau (52') added another just after the restart. But Oakville were getting their act together, doubtlessly after some prompting by head coach Duncan Wilde at half-time. Felipe Vilela (51'), Khody Ellis (60', 76') and Anthony Doran (69') responded with four goals in the second half to win the contest 4-2. "We were frustrated again, and not for the first time this season, at how we performed in the first half," said Wilde. "We were concerned with committing too many players at once, and when we gave the ball away our shape was very poor." "We gave away two goals by doing just that again, and so it is a concern for us. We've been working at it and we made a couple of changes and addressed it seriously at half-time, with an emphasis on our final ball being better." "The message really was better shape when we give the ball away, and quality in the final third. We found our rhythm in the second half, and it paid off." Khody Ellis was an exciting presence in the second half, getting a brace and presenting an ever dangerous outlet when Oakville were on the ball. "Khody has had two great seasons," said Wilde. "He's a dangerous player, he's an exciting player, and there is no question he can go to the next level, he just needs a consistent run." "He's getting two out of three performances right now, but once he starts getting three out of three he will have a good chance for the next level. He's an exciting player to watch." After such a bright start, Windsor were understandably disappointed at their second half collapse. Keeper Kyle Vizarakis indicated discipline and fatigue may have played a role for the travelling side. "The first half we played the way we practice, we played proper soccer and I thought we were dominating them," he said. "Second half it was just mental lapses and that was it. A couple mistakes at the back and we just went downhill from there." "It was a hot day, and it's tough to play a lot of minutes in this weather. I'm gassed and I'm a goalie, so it must have been hard on the rest of them." Windsor heads to Kingston to take on Clippers at Queen's University, Tindall Field on July 10 (noon). Oakville Blue Devils are at home grounds of Sheridan College, Oakville to host Vaughan Azzurri on July 10 (3 p.m.).
