Woodbridge Men Keep Clean Sheet In Kingston And Move To Semi-Finals Of L1 Cup 06/24/2016, 5:30pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff Woodbridge Strikers went to Kingston and beat the Clippers 2-0 to progress to the semi-finals of the men's L1 Cup. Ignazio Muccilli (23') and Emmanuel Issac (48') finished the goals for Strikers, while Matt George posted a clean sheet. "The guys played very well today," said Strikers assistant coach, Damion Scott. "Travelled to Kingston and had a good effort, one of the best of the year so far. So we're back to Toronto and looking forward to a strong performance playing Toronto FC on Sunday." With the loss, Kingston men stepped out of the L1 Cup, just as their women had the night before. Clippers technical director Chris Eveleigh indicated that the players are experiencing fatigue from a tough overall schedule. "As a club we'll take the responsibility, he said. "We've had a very heavy schedule for both the men's and women's teams of late, and many of our players have significant demands as well." "A large number of our players are coaching within the club, while our younger ones have been involved in exams, and the older ones have to balance work and life responsibilities." "There is some general and mental fatigue, but it is a little unique as things are also going very well in our club at the moment. The critical mass of talent we have in the team, and coaching as well, has strengthened club bonds throughout. It's normal to go through dips and crests of form in a season, and I think we're just feeling the burn a little at the moment. I expect we'll be back to form before long."
