Kingston Grabs Point On Road After Late Piccioli Free Kick 06/13/2016, 12:00am EDT By League1 Ontario staff Kingston Clippers came away from University of Toronto's Varsity Stadium with a share of the points after a 1-1 draw with North Toronto Nitros. "It feels like a loss because we were up 1-0 most of the game, and we outchanced them and had more opportunities to score," said North Toronto assistant coach, Ilya Orlov. "But unfortunately we couldn't score, we made a mistake, and they capitalized off a very nice set piece." Clippers' defender Julian Piccioli (80') picked out a brilliant free kick in the late stages, after Bermuda international Killian Elkinson (4') put the home side up early on. "Killian Elkinson played very well today and he just got back from the Bermuda national team so he provided the quality up top that we were missing in the absence of our top scorer, Anthony Sousa," added Orlov. North Toronto owned virtually all the major statistics of the match, and Kingston technical director Chris Eveleigh was unenthused about the result. "Our preparation appears to play a part in how we perform on the road, we're going to need to look at that," he said. "This draw is smash and grab as they say because today's performance was nowhere near good enough." With the result, Kingston retains fourth position in the east division with 12 points. Kingston is on the road again for matchweek eight, playing Sanjaxx Lions at Monarch Park on June 18 (7 p.m.). North Toronto is currently in fifth position with ten points, but has a match in hand on the teams above. Nitros play away to North Mississauga SC in matchweek eight at Hershey Centre 2 on June 18 (9 p.m.).
