North Miss Gets Four On Toronto FC Academy, Move Into Mid-Table In West Division 06/12/2016, 6:00pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff It a highly anticipated matchweek seven matchup, North Miss beat Toronto FC 3-1 and in the process added their second win in two matches and moved into fourth place in the west division. "I was very happy about the result obviously," said North Miss head coach, Rick Titus. "We could have scored a couple more chances, but we weren't fortunate with that." "I was very happy with my keeper Daniel Gosciniak coming up a with a very big save when the score was one nil. I take my hat off to him for doing such a good job." North Miss wasted no time impressing themself on the contest with Jose De Sousa (7'), Jose Melo (36') and Shawn Brown (45') putting the home side three goals up before the half-time whistle. "First half we just came out flat," said Toronto FC Academy head coach, Stuart Neely. "They came at us, they pressed us strongly, they used their key striker Joey Melo well, and made good runs off of him with his little flicks and touches." "We made too many mistakes in the first half, and were not demanding high standards of ourselves. As a result they pounced on us. We gave up three bad goals, terrible defensive mistakes, loss of possession, and leaving gaps. We need to improve that aspect in our preparation." Toronto FC Academy's Zakaria Abdi (54') got the lone consolation in the second half, but the Junior Reds could not harness any momentum to level the score. "I think we finished strong," said Neely. "We won the second half and a lot of our individual battles, maintained possession, scored a goal and could have had more I thought. At the same time we left ourselves open to their counter attack and gave up some scoring chances in the second half." It was a positive to go for it in the second half, we showed grit and determination, but credit to North Miss who clearly understood what they had to do, bunkered in and countered us."
