Windsor Stays Third In West After 3 - 0 Win Over Sanjaxx 06/12/2016, 5:15pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff Windsor Stars got a much needed punch in the arm from two of their University of Windsor recruits Jumbo Iyowuna (46', 51') and Celso Carapau (56'), getting a 3-0 result over Sanjaxx Lions that retains their third place position in the west division. A clean sheet by Kyle Vizarakis ensured the points, on a day when the wind and piercing sun caused all sorts of strange bounces. "I think our boys struggled in the first half with the wind, and the fact it was zero zero and they were trying to score goals with one pass," said Windsor coach, Dave Rimbert. "I told them at half to get the ball on the ground, and knock it around before anything else can happen. I thought they were okay at that, but we're going to go back to training on this because it needs to get better." Windsor would wake up in the second half, getting two from their big striker Iyowuna. "He worked hard, and took a couple chances which is good," said Rimbert. "He's doing well, and will keep improving because he is adapting to what I want him to do. He did a good job and finished a couple chances which is of course what you want from your striker." Sanjaxx head coach Peter Mellon was happy with the way his side had started the match, but lamented their lack of focus in the second frame. "The first half we kept to the game plan, had four good chances, and could have scored four goals in the first fifteen minutes," he said. "The second half, no - we gave away three unnecessary goals and that was it basically. It was all downhill after that."
