Kingston Clippers opened their season at home to Master's FA Saints, and ran out winners after
a brace from Lucas Blain (10', 76') separated the sides in a 2-1 final.

"The lads have shown that they have passion and spirit, which is what we've asked for this
season," said Clippers technical director, Chris Eveleigh.

"We've got more local players involved this year, and obviously that is what we want.
Their dedication and spirit to get the winner in the final part of the match is fantastic."

Despite both sides flying into tackles on the wet surface at Queen's University's Tindall Field,
there was only one caution and little between the two teams throughout the contest.
Masters Aaryn Massy was the sole caution for his dispute with official Pierre Acouri following
Blain's winning goal.

Masters Anson Goudiaby (21') put the visitors on the board shortly after the opening goal,
and the 1-1 stalemate continued until late into the match. Much of the Masters attacking
play went through forward Isaiah Page, who was impressive in the number nine role.
Goalkeeper Filip Ljubruski was also instrumental in keeping the Clippers from capitalizing
on their late match momentum.

"I think we did well today for that fact that we had a late organization in terms of players
coming back, and we are just getting players in sync," said Masters technical director,
Junior Groves.

"This is our third outing together, and I think between that, the rain, and a wet turf
surface - we are progressing. Progression is all I want to see at this stage of the league,
and as we go forward."

With the win, Kingston join Durham, Vaughan and Woodbridge atop the table in the Eastern
conference. Kingston will host Durham on Sunday May 8, 8:30 p.m.
