Tonight I have the lead with 22446 points in this small crowd of six for this game. I was four way co-winner of the Tune-Up round (5000/5000) and outright winner of the other rounds. MADDOG was 2nd with 17930. I risk 50% of my points to get a high score. I didn't feel comfortable with answers like this--the question would obviously be "Somebody plays this instrument". With 11223 on the line....

I have no idea who this is. I had mentioned to MADDOG that I hoped it wouldn't be another jazz Encore question like every few weeks but here we go again! A 20% chance with no clues? Well no--I have an idea...thinking I can outsmart NTN. A clarinetist and saxophonist seem a bit too obvious for me in that they would be the most likely to be jazz instruments. I have an idea that a bassist which is a requirement in any band would not be thought of as specifically jazz by the thousands playing this game. Oops also would a bassist be thought of as a soloist? Maybe I'm reading too much into this. I've already pressed '2'.

I'm right and win with 33669 points. I was the only one right in the bar. The score was good enough to finish 67th in North America but the bar finished 1380th with everyone else wiping out. I earn 3000 Players Plus points. I needed another 1300 points to be on the Network Top 20 and think of some of the On-Beat round where I sat on my hands. I also place 3rd of 9 on the bar's reset Hall Of Fame board.
I go around later to the players I know and tell them I guessed it.
