Tonight I'm in 2nd place with 15894 points. I hadn't won any rounds tonight. I was almost quiet again in the OnBeat round but there was nothing outstanding about the rest of my game either. I'd been behind the whole game. ICEMAN had jumped ahead in the OnBeat round with 11000 points for at least a 4000 point lead then suddenly stopped playing! LESTAT (a two player team) had the lead with 16732 points. I put the maximum 50% risk on the line.

I didn't know the answer and was upset that this was another Jazz Encore for the third time in seven weeks. Saxaphone would be an unusual answer but guitar a good trick answer. I was sitting beside (Bill) MADDOG at the bar and he asked if I knew. He had a good idea that it was guitar as beside him was another friend who's been here for these jazz questions.

I'm right and win with 23841 points. MADDOG finishes 2nd of the seven players and earns 3000 Players Plus points so I assume I did the same. I finish 1724th in North America and the bar is 1568th as only Bill's friend was the other person right in the bar for the Encore question.

Winner of four games...too bad there's no winners cards anymore. I look and see I'm a leader in the World Cup pool with six of eight quarterfinalists (actually seven but I guessed the wrong site so they don't give me points for that). I will win a Foosball table if I beat everyone in the Firkin group of pubs.
Next week I don't expect to be here as I'll probably be out watching the local soccer league on a rare Saturday Night game.
