Played at The Keg-Sheppard Centre in North York.
Tonight I have the lead thanks to winning the JukeBox and Triviaoke segments. The low score for me of 15768 points was caused by a very low OnBeat section. I needed only 14000 points for the 2000 Players Points available but I risked 50% as has become my new style. I was playing with Bill (MADDOG tonight) and said I knew everything about the first three bands but not the first two. I expected it would be a question about their most famous songs. There was only one other team playing.

Yes I know this one. Although Vince Clark was in Depeche Mode at their beginning and then went on to Yaz, he's in Erasure right now with Andy Bell. I tipped Bill off for this one but he thought of it too.

I'm right and win with 23652 points. That's good for (I thought a surprisingly high) 166th in North America while the bar was 1796th. I finish 6th all time on the bar's Hall of Fame. That give's me 1,3,4 and 6 in four weeks of playing.
The other team in the bar was YEBO who are two women who I thought were from Australia by their team name and accents but they were South African. Hi!! The music and RetroTv games are a tough game to play if you aren't North American.
When Bill left I went across the street to the Frog & Firkin. While there were no repeat games like the group played in isolation from the continent last week, there was something better....DAVETV was there!!...He had a group of seven gathered around him but invited me over to play when I went over to say hello. All our scores were swelled by playing as a group. Dave was the best player by thinking of the answer before the five choices came up. I suggested about three answers that had stumped the others for high points. My scores were probably 4000 points more per game then when I play alone.
So the question I get most often by readers is 'what is DAVETV really like?'. Well he is very friendly to me as always. This was our third meeting. He had only one Playmaker board tonight but then that's probably more relaxing then controlling four boards; also he has the advantage of eight brains crowding around. He also cracks jokes like a stand-up comic. He says a lot of things about the American ignorance of all things outside their country. (I should read more of the US posters boasting on the North American soccer mailing list before I come here and put me more receptive to his comments). One of the group gave him a ride here tonight supposedly for the first time some have seen him this year. They persuaded him to stay 'one more game'. He's a good story teller too. Also when he's with a group he wants the bar to finish first on the continent rather then press for his individual score to be the highest! (Does that last point shatter some myths?).

Bill left and I made my way across the street to the Frog & Firkin and got in about half of the 11:30 game.
11:30pm...Countdown...4650/15000...12th/16...ARCHER wins...500+ points?...5420th in NA...the bar is 1st in North America with a 13842 point average. The top individual players are 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 15th and 16th place but only the top name appears on the Network Top 20 board (so now I know why they don't match).
12:00am...Countdown...14045/15800...4th/18...KELLY wins and is 4th in Canada...1000+ points...I'm 10th in Canada as others in the bar are 4th, 8th and 9th...The bar is 1st in Canada with a 14196 point average.
12:30am...Countdown...13744/15000...5th/18...MOLSON wins and is 8th in NA board...1000+ points...I'm 70th in NA...bar is 5th in NA...our top scorers are 10th and 12th.
1:00am...Countdown...14142/15000...7th/18...DAVETV wins and is tied for 1st with two other NA people with a perfect game...1000+ points...The bar is 2nd in NA behind Spoons in California...Our top players are 1st, 4th and 5th...I'm 81st in NA.
1:30am...Countdown...12164/15000...6th/14...Dave wins as FOCUSA (closest you can get to a swear word) and is 19th on NA Top 20 board, 49th overall...1000+ points...I'm 72nd in NA...bar is 6th in NA.
