Tonight, I've arrived even later than last week. I started with two questions left in the Jukebox round and got them right for 2000 points, then won the Triviaoke round so entered the Encore Round with 7428 points (fourth of the seven players). SLEEPY was in first with 12541. I didn't know a lot about these groups but still risk 50% of my points. So with 3714 on the line...

No I don't know this one. Time to eliminate them one by one. I've heard the names of Smashing Pumpkins before so knew it wasn't them. Noone can have the last name 'Ambush' can they? I'd think that would be a stage name for some punk group. Spyro Gyra have had a long career as a jazz group so I eliminate them. I go into deep thought and eliminate Sonic Youth who I know has a woman in the group. I think Spacehog is too obscure so enter Screaming Trees who sound alternative enough to have an 'Ambush' in their group.

I'm wrong and end with 3714 points. Our whole bar is wiped out as all seven players are wrong! POGUES wins with 7101 by risking low. I'm 6983rd in North America and our bar is 2274th. I earned 1000 Players Plus points for this game. The network scores were very low, only 20xxx to be in the top 20. Maybe only jazz fans from Buffalo knew the answer! Now I'm somewhat glad I didn't waste more than 20 minutes playing this game.
Tonight's band was 'Medicine Man'. They were a quartet of guitar, guitar, bass and drums. The drummer really impressed Bill IDONO for his rhythm. Pop and blues covers.
I'd slept in and then had come through a rainstorm to get here. The crowd was light this week because of the weather. My friend Paul had already gone home. I started the night with 293000 points and thought at least I'd get some satisfaction if I could bring my score to 300000 before going home.

Alright then. That game gives me 300000 Players Plus points. I've never stayed this late since Ontario changed last call to 2:00am. It made up for not getting a full game in at Playback. I don't expect to get here before 10:30pm the rest of the summer because of the soccer season.
