I had made notes months ago on the other possible Headliners but they'd never offered tonight's Headliner as a possible choice. My notes were fresh from last night and I had 26 subway stops to try to memorize facts about the three bands before I got here. Before last night I only knew the lead singer and their hometown. Great, Buffalo New York is just a bit further away (but in the opposite direction) from Peterborough Ontario which was the hometown of last week's Encore answer 'Sebastian Bach'--a game which we couldn't play because the Network wasn't connected. Question 9 listed four hits and an album cut that I didn't recognize but I know to concentrate on the hits and figure out which one was too early or too late for the time.
Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual. I reminded my friends to bet 50%.
I said before the question came up it would be a lyric because they hadn't asked a question about lyrics in the Headliner round. Nothing I could have done about it. All their songs I think about and cross them over to Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 songs.

Rob says the answer right away. He says it's the only song of there's he knows. Great I don't think I would have got it. The only one I was sure of were the lyrics to their Supertramp cover 'Give A Little Bit'. Also 'Name' as I'd read mentions "orphans" prominently. Rob certainly deserves the glory as he's in first place.

I played ROCKET until I got to 2000 then switched to LITBOX and got 2000 and stopped playing. Some I would have had wrong I answered too late.
