Rob says they missed three questions last week so this was an improvement. My LITBOX board was fading and it dies at the end of the round. I knew what the headliner category would be when I saw the choices earlier in the week. The others were just apologies for giving us repeats of the Red Hot Chili Peppers game two weeks in a row last month.
I was going through this round well until I missed both questions 8 and 9. I went with 'Club Can't Handle Me' and 'Rock Steady'.
Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

I read through the question and answers once and realize it's not 5,4, nor 3. Then thinking 1 was the first thing she sings about, I say it should be '2'. Rob said he was thinking that too. [I remembered later that the song says that next week they'd 'do it all again']. Yep couldn't steal a police car every week!
This is one of the few videos I've ever looked up on YouTube. I had seen the music portion on television enough times but then read that Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman played Katy's parents in the video but never saw them. I went looking for it and found there was a much longer version. The Buzztime quizmakers had already asked a question about this video a few months before in the TuneUp round when they asked the name of the Glee star who appeared in the video. I'd guessed wrong on that question.
I have heard the song enough times to go through the choices in the first ten seconds--no video required.

Ron CHATZ comes over after the game to ask how I am. He said he swept through the headliner round except for the 10th question. I meant to go over and give him the answer to the Encore if I knew it but was held back by having go through the choices and then it slipped my mind. The bar was empty enough as this bar was NOT showing the mixed martial arts PPV which was taking place in downtown Toronto and there were other local bars showing it. We needed five boards for a good bar score and my LITBOX had conked out after the first round.
I took the subway to get here tonight even though at two stops I usually walk the distance. I'm in no condition to walk any more than two blocks at once. I had been out of the hospital for less than two weeks but wanted to make an appearance to thank my friends for their concern. I took the subway home too and picked up some milk and bread as that was the only food I was running short of so far. I have to get by without my driver's licence for six weeks after the operation. I can understand now--after the operation--as it hurts when I turn my neck side to side.
I had open heart surgery on November 23rd. It wasn't a complete success as I had to have a mechanical valve put in my heart. That means I will have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life. I am still in considerable pain. I think I feel right now how I would feel in ten years if I did NOT have the operation--that my heart would suddenly start racing even if I was just sitting around. I am looking back at how much worse I felt when I first got out of the hospital. Every day is a little bit better. I'm finally slowing up on the Tylenol.
As I am taking so many types of medication at the current time, I stayed with diet colas tonight rather than have Moosehead beer. It turns out to be the last time I will see barmaid Kirsten before she moves away from Toronto--so another reason I was glad I was here.
Now at home my PVR was recording Saturday Night Live with guest host Katy Perry. Earlier in the night there was some new awards show named the 'American Giving Awards' with one of the guest singers being Taio Cruz singing 'Dynamite'.
