PINK FLOYD:...1. 'The Piper At The ____________' is a classic rock album by Pink Floyd--Gates Of Dawn...2. Pink Floyd's 1975 song 'Wish You
Were Here' begins "So you think you can tell ___________"--Heaven from Hell...3. The 1969 album double LP/CD contained both a live and a
studio album:--Ummagumma...4. This Pink Floyd song says "Hanging on a quiet desperation is the English way"--Time...5. Which of these songs
is from Pink Floyd's classic album 'Dark Side of the Moon'?--Money...6. Pink Floyd hit it big in 2006 with a two disc DVD set called:--Pulse
...7. Clare Torry is the guest howler and wailer on Pink Floyd's 1973 song 'Great ____ in the Sky':--Gig...8. Which member of Pink Floyd
released the 1992 solo album 'Amused To Death'?--Roger Waters...9. Who directed the animated rock drama 'Pink Floyd The Wall'?--Alan Parker
...10. On what Pink Floyd album is the song with the lyric "Run rabbit run"?--Dark Side of the Moon.

We went 9 our of 10 on this round with me calling out most of the answers. I only messed up question 8 going with David Gilmour although knowing that Roger Waters had put out a lot more solo albums over the years. The others asked me what I was going to use for my answer. I have seen that album listed before but couldn't think of it right then.

This round seemed very heavily weighted towards the albums 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall'. Question '5' alternate choices all were from 'The Wall'.

I had thought the Headliner would be Pink Floyd this week. They've had a Led Zeppelin headliner already and they've had Pink Floyd as a possible Headliner about six times (someone on Scaratings has mentioned that over the months). I don't have time to make notes at this time of year but did find old ones for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and read the CD booklet that goes with my one Kings album 'Kinks--Ultimate Collection' for a bio on them. I'd think I should have read the old notes I made on the subway trip to the bar instead of reading an old computer magazine!

Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

Answers:

  1. Comfortably Numb
  2. Money
  3. Learning To Fly
  4. Nobody Home
  5. Sunshine On My Shoulder

I'm not sure of this but it seems familiar. Well it wasn't the John Denver song '5'. And I know the lyrics to 'Money'. The lyrics seem to fit perfectly into a song from 'The Wall' so I get the others to choose 'Comfortably Numb'. I didn't realize until later that 'Nobody Home' was also from 'The Wall'.

Correct Answer:....1. Comfortably Numb

[NTN Extra Fact:...The song from 'The Wall' also envisions (missed the rest)]

I'm right and win as LITBOX with 41510. I earn 3000+ points for meeting the standard of 18000. I finish 87th overall in North America with both my boards. The continental rankings for individuals and bars are not listed this week. I finish 7th on this bar's Hall of Fame.
(NTN lists our bar as 11th out of 1744 sites with a 59481 average).

The bar was full of Ultimate Fighting fans even though the event was being held for the first time ever in Toronto and 55,000 fans were downtown at the Rogers Centre. Tonight was my first night of drinking diet colas rather than my regular two pints of Moosehead beer (once a week). The last three out of four times I've had alcohol my heart has raced for hours afterwards and I have to take my MVP (mitral valve prolapse) heart problem seriously. Earlier in the week I was at the hospital swallowing a camera so the specialist could 'see' what was wrong. I will likely need an operation. I will miss the next six weeks with soccer games as the MLS team this year decided to play most of their games on Saturday night instead of Saturday afternoon. Another league I cover also has a Saturday night game in between.
