NTN Encore Question of November 20th, 2010.
Played at The Squire & Firkin in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Headliner:...MUSICAL FOOD over All In The Family and State Songs

Encore Question:...'Sweet Potato Pie' is a 1987 album by this blues guitarist:

Tonight I'm playing as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, Phil PLBAAB, and LeAnn LIZZY. They are at a table of four and since I'm the last one here, I'm at a table across the aisle from them so it's difficult to hear the earlier games but I'm louder for this game.

Here's how my game went and my comments:
Tune Up...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/7...my two, COSMO, METLCA, and PLBAAB win round with a perfect 5000.
.............LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/7...I go 1 for 1 in guessing and Phil gets us one.
The LineUp...ROCKET...15000/15000...1st/8...my two, METLCA, and PLBAAB win round.
...........LITBOX...15000/15000...1st/8.
I go 10 for 10 for a great score...Phil gets us two answers.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...22330/25000...1st/8...ROCKET wins round.
..........LITBOX...22310/25000...2nd/8...I take two -250 this week.
Opening Act...ROCKET...27330/35000...2nd/8...COSMO wins round and takes lead with 27650.
................LITBOX...27310/35000...3rd/8.
The Pound key round. I must have got 5 right for 1000, 1 for +250, 1 for -250, and 3 I didn't answer.
Rob gets me one which I thought was 1000 but I didn't look down to see I was too late and didn't change in the second chance so got -250.
Headliner...ROCKET...49230/56250...2nd/9.
............LITBOX...49240/56250...1st/9.
MUSICAL FOOD:...1. This singer's hits include 'Cheeseburger In Paradise' and 'Margaritaville':--Jimmy Buffett...2. Which song was the
Smashing Pumpkins biggest hit on the Billboard Hot 100?--1979...3. 'One Bad Apple' was the first number 1 hit for what group?--The
Osmonds (they could have also used this if they'd gone with the 'All In The Family' Headliner)...4. 'Mashed Potato Time' was a
delicious 1962 hit for:--Dee Dee Sharp...5. 'Chicken Fried' was a platinum hit for the ___________ Band:--Zac Brown (I'm catching
up on my Billboards and was reading their cover story on the way over here on the subway)...6. John Lennon's 'Walls And Bridges'
featured a song named after which snack food?--Beef Jerky (just bought up all his albums on remastered CDs within the last two weeks)
...7. The cake in the park song 'MacArthur Park' is made with:--Green Icing...8. Record producer and songwriter _________ donned a new
hat as the producer of the film 'Soul Food':--Babyface...9. Weird Al Yankovic song 'Lasagna' is a parody of this song:--La Bamba...
10. Who was part of the new wave invasion with 'More Songs About Buildings And Food'?--Talking Heads

I go 9 for 10 as does Rob. We miss question 8 which trips up the bonus points going with Quincy Jones (most obvious producer).
One of our group gets us Question 9 before I can think of it.

Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

It's a good thing I'm sitting across the aisle from the rest of them so they can't hear me say "I don't know this". I know I've read it before. I'm pretty sure it's '1'. I have to go up to Phil and hear what he's saying. Someone who's not playing said Eric Clapton. I tell him it's not that. Finally the others ask me what I'm going for so I tell them. Because I sound more confident than when I first saw the question, they go with me instead of splitting. I know I would have read Stevie Ray Vaughan's album list to get the right spelling of the album title used in the Encore earlier this month. Never heard of '3' and I knew I'd read the title of this album. Maybe '5' would have had a chance but I think I'm right.

Correct Answer:....1. Robert Cray

[NTN Extra Fact:...The old style blues meets rhythm and blues in Cray's music.]

I'm right and stay in 2nd with ROCKET at 62370. I earn 3000+ points for meeting the standard of 18000. The bar is 2nd in North America with a 61221 average. COSMO wins with 62850 and is 5th on the Network Top 20 for all North America and is 6th on this board's Hall of Fame. (NTN.com kept our bar in 2nd place out of 1601 bars).

The bar scores aren't that good. I see the album asked about only made #184 and was on the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
