I had guessed earlier in the week that the category would be about Pearl Jam because the other bands don't have a long history of albums to their credit. That meant that I saved reading about them until Saturday afternoon so they'd be freshest on my mind. I think all of us went 8 for 10 and missed out on questions '7' and '10'. I actually had 'child abuse' as the topic of the song Jeremy but Phil pulled me off it because he said it was about 'teen suicide'. He said the video had the classroom kids covered in blood when Jeremy pulled out a gun and (I suppose) shot himself. I should have had question 10; not because I remember the Grammy award but when I looked through the group's noms and wins on Wikipedia I noticed they had only won once but the name of the song didn't register with me.
Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

I don't know this. Another Triviaoke question? I've already missed five tonight. I don't know the group that well and consider Eddie Vedder a mumbler (with Dave Matthews and Bob Dylan) and don't understand his lyrics. I put in 'kept calling my name'. Phil says he's going with 'moved beneath my feet' but initially says he has no idea. Then he says that's the video that has the world being destroyed. I read that it's an anti-George Bush song. This now makes a bit of sense as a more literal translation of what the Earth does. If he's so sure about the Jeremy video...I say he's picked a good answer and I switch.

Wow...I say "Thank you sir" and pat Phil on the back of his hands. I later go home and play that song as I have that album and also the lyric sheet inside the CD. Of course my mood is changed now and I think what a great song it is! I also You-Tube the video for Jeremy and find out Phil was right about the images.
I had also lucked into the other Pearl Jam encore on November 8, 2008 for their 'Better Man' song...Encore Question:...Which Pearl Jam song opens as a soft ballad before kicking into high gear?...on a straight guess which gave me 2nd in North America that week.
I'm right and win as ROCKET at 51180. I earn 3000+ points for meeting the standard of 18000. I finish 6th on the Network Top 20
for all North America...the bar is 7th in North America with a 41568 average. I was surprised that I ranked so high
but our bar wasn't too far off the lead if Rob hadn't split his boards for answers in the final question.
