Tonight I'm playing as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, Phil PLBAAB and LeAnn LIZZY.

Here's how my game went and my comments:
TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...2nd/6...COSMO wins with 5000. I was one for two in guessing.
.............LITBOX...4500/5000...2nd/6.
The LineUp...ROCKET...11500/15000...4th/6...METLCA takes the lead.
...........LITBOX...11500/15000...4th/6.
I got 7 right out of 10 for an OK round. One of the answers was Metallica which we got right and one was
Cosmos-Karl Sagen which we got wrong.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...18390/25000...3rd/8...METLCA wins round and has 20740.
..........LITBOX...18390/25000...3rd/8...I get two -250s but get the others for high points.
Rob gets me one.
Opening Act...ROCKET...25140/35000...3rd/8...COSMO wins round although I think we tied.
................LITBOX...25140/35000...3rd/8.
The pound-key round. I got seven right for 1000, one for +250, two for -250 and none I didn't answer.
Headliner...ROCKET...46390/56250...3rd/8.
............LITBOX...46390/56250...3rd/8.
THE 1970s...1. What group's first #1 hit was 'Rich Girl'?--Hall & Oates...2. Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods had

==Earth Wind & Fire...4. Which 8 1/2 minute song was a #1 hit in 1972?--American Pie...5. "Behind Closed Doors"
was a Grammy winner in 1973 for:--Charlie Rich...6. Jackson Browne captured the searching spirit of the early
1970s in his second album:--For Everyman...7. "Ballroom Blitz" and "Fox On The Run" were hit singles in 1975 for:
--Sweet...8. New York drag queens inspired this Lou Reed from the 1970s:--Walk On The Wild Side...9. This British
quartet had hits in 1970 with "Come And Get It" and "No Matter What":--Badfinger...10. "Pop Music" was a #1 hit
in 1979 for a single letter artist called:--M.

I had guessed earlier in the week that the 1970s would be the decade asked because it hadn't been one that was covered since the new Headliner game was started. It was still a category too broad to study. I said to Rob before the round that I was worried about Country music from that decade. The one Country question was a crossover hit which was pretty easy. The entire round was easy for us except that Rob had to keep the bonus points going with his answer on #6 with the Jackson Browne album. He said there were only two album titles that were by the artist. So we swept through all the questions and came out with a good score.

Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

Answers:

  1. Elvira
  2. I Like Dreamin'
  3. Every Time You Go Away
  4. Kung Fu Fighting
  5. Shadow Dancing

I don't even finish dictating the question before I blurt out the answer just before Rob gets to say it. Now the only thing to do is to name off the other artists. Oak Ridge Boys, Paul Young (or Hall & Oates and both the wrong decade), Carl Douglas, and Andy Gibb.

Correct Answer:....2. I Like Dreamin'

[NTN Extra Fact:...A talented songwriter, Nolan wrote "My Eyes Adored You", a big hit for Frankie Valli.]

I'm right and stay in 3rd with both my boxes at 69585. I earn 3000+ points for meeting the standard of 18000. I finish 10th overall in all North America...the bar is 2nd in North America with a 71103 average.
METLCA wins with 74235 and is first on this bar's Hall of Fame. I was surprised that if we find the game easy, the other bars would too because they would do better than us in the earlier rounds. (NTN.com leaves our bar as 2nd out of 1903 bars).

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
