Encore Question:...On 'Midnight In Montgomery' Alan Jackson encounters the ghost of:

Tonight I'm playing as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA and Phil PLBAAB.

Here's how my game went and my comments:
TuneUp...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/5...my two and COSMO and PLBAAB win round with 5000.
.............LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/5.
I go 1 for 2 guessing.
The LineUp...ROCKET...14000/15000...1st/5...my two win round.
...........LITBOX...14000/15000...1st/5.
I got 9 right out of 10 for a great round with help on two answers.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...21530/25000...2nd/5...COSMO wins round.
..........LITBOX...21610/25000...1st/5...I take one -250 in this round.
There's one question on the title of Canadian group Men Without Hats--Pop Goes The World.
Opening Act...ROCKET...28330/35000...2nd/5...my two win round.
................LITBOX...28360/35000...1st/5.
The pound-key round. I got seven right for 1000, none for +250, one for -250 and two I didn't answer.
Headliner...ROCKET....36080/56250...5th/5.
............LITBOX...36110/56250...4th/5.
ALAN JACKSON:...I only had time to write two out of the three choices down this week. I would have been
in real trouble if it was on Vince Gill. I expected it would be Alsn Jackson as that had been asked in
I think two Encore questions over the years. One of them they gave away in an add-on after the first
question mentioning that Alan Jackson's wife had given a demo tape to Glen Campbell.
1. This article of Alan Jackson's clothing is his trademark--White Stetson...2. Which rock legend is
mentioned in the Alan Jackson classic 'Gone Country'?--Bob Dylan...3. Country star Alan Jackson catapulted
to the top of the Pop charts with this album--Drive (only Jackson album offered)...4. Which Alan Jackson
album includes "I'd Love You All Over Again"?--Here In The Real World...5. In February 2006, Alan Jackson
released 'Precious Memories', his first __________ album:--Gospel...6. Jeff Foxworthy and Alan Jackson team
up on this award nominated music video:--Redneck Games...7. This Alan Jackson tune pays homage to the
wild days of youth:--Chattahoochee...8. On "Don't Rock The Jukebox", Alan Jackson prefers George Jones over:--
The Rolling Stones...9. 'Like Red On A Rose' is a new collaboration between Alan Jackson and:--Alison Krauss
...10. Alan Jackson opened up his 1994 CD "Who Am I" with this Eddie Cochrane hit--Summertime Blues.

I missed question 2, 4, and 9 which stopped me from building up many bonus points. My friends did better than me and I fell to the bottom of the standings. They are not Country music fans but Sean immediately got the Chattahoochee song. Our server passing by gave us the George Jones--Rolling Stones answer (well it rhymes). My disappointment is that I didn't have time to find album-single for question 4. If I'd have read through my list on the subway a few times on my way over here instead of reading the entertainment paper I think I would have gotten it. Phil got Bob Dylan on the second question although I went with Elvis Presley. "Doesn't Alison Krauss collaborate with everybody?" asked Sean as his logic except I stayed with Emmylou Harris.

Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual. I ensure that everyone puts in that wager. I can be wrong and still earn the bonus points.

Answers:

  1. Hank Williams
  2. Gene Autry
  3. Tennessee Ernie Ford
  4. Buddy Holly
  5. Trigger

Well I'm in with Hank Williams right away as I think that would be the person country singers most like to mention. I don't remember the song unless subliminally as it's on a Greatest Hits collection I own. Well let's see it wouldn't be Roy Roger's horse Trigger, Buddy Holly was from Texas. Was Hank Williams from Alabama? [Yes he was]. Rob also agrees it's Hank Williams but Sean thought it was Gene Autry. I'm thinking he owned the California Angels baseball team so he'd be from the west. [actually from Texas]. Oh well let's see...

Correct Answer:....1. Hank Williams

[NTN Extra Fact:...The song from "Don't Rock The Jukebox" spawned a popular and innovative music video]
