NTN Encore Question of December 26th, 2009.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York, Ontario.

Headliner:...STEVIE WONDER over Paul McCartney and Paul Simon

Encore Question:...The lyrics to Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You" make reference to several:

Tonight I'm playing as ROCKET and LITBOX with the group of people at the bar because my other friends were at a birthday party and sent me an invitation yesterday and I didn't read my e-mail until about three hours before game time.

Here's how my game went and my comments:
TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...1st/9...there's a seven way tie for first.
.............LITBOX...4500/5000...1st/9.
The LineUp...ROCKET...11500/15000...1st/9...my two boards win round along with MRBOBO and GORDO.
...........LITBOX...11500/15000...1st/9.
I got 7 right out of 10 for a just average round. The other players can back me up on two answers but nothing
on the three I missed.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...17370/25000...1st/9...CHATZ wins wins round.
..........LITBOX...17350/25000...2nd/9...I take three -250s in this round. Ron CHATZ got us the Oasis song
(we knew he'd know dressing up as one of the Gallagher brothers on Halloween). Mace MRBOBO was silent (as he
wasn't sure) on the lyrics to 'Back In Black' and I got that wrong.
Opening Act...ROCKET...19120/35000...2nd/9...MRBOBO wins round.
................LITBOX...19100/35000...3rd/9.
The pound-key round. I got three right for 1000, none for +250, five for -250 and two I didn't answer.
I was actually losing ground in this round. Last song on John Lennon's 'Imagine' album was too picky
for me.
Headliner...ROCKET....40370/56250...1st/9.
............LITBOX...40350/56250...2nd/9.
STEVIE WONDER:...This man had a long career to write out his albums and singles titles. While the game was on
I didn't have time to look at any notes but just writing down the titles yesterday helped me think of some
of them later when the question were asked.
1. Wrote "Happy Birthday" for--Martin Luther King Jr...2. Song Wil Smith samples in 'Wild Wild West'--I Wish...
3. 'Her clothes are old but never are they dirty' from song--Living For The City...4. #1 songs with all songs
except--Wishing Well (the Terence Trent D'Arby song)...5. modern rock band covered 'Higher Ground'--Red Hot
Chili Peppers...6. first instrument mastered by him as child prodigy--Harmonica...7. performed with him at
SuperBowl XL pregame show in February 2006--John Legend (India Aria and Joss Stone listed in the follow-up)...
8. #1 1970s hit is homage to jazz legend--Sir Duke (ie Duke Ellington)...9. soundtrack to Spike Lee movie--
Jungle Fever...10. covered Beatles song on 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' album--We Can Work It Out.

I go 10 for 10 in this round. I wasn't sure on some of the questions and had to keep quiet. 2, 7, 9, 10 I wasn't sure. 9 and 10 I remember reading while making notes so got them. Bill yelled out 'harmonica'. I had answered that already but was earlier today reading about Paul McCartney playing trumpet as a child. This round brought me back into the game with the possibility of getting into the Top 20.

Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual. Will everyone bet 50%? Well it's not my business.

This is easy enough. I say it a second or so before some others think about it. I've heard the song often enough. I start thinking about the holidays mentioned while the remaining 28 seconds go by. We weren't positioned too well to hear any suggested answers so I didn't realize until later there was a great drop-off among players in the Headliner round.

Correct Answer:....3. Holidays

[NTN Extra Fact:...On this song Stevie urges all to spread their love every day not just special ones.]
