Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York, Ontario.
Headliner:...AC/DC over KISS and PINK FLOYD
Encore Question:...AC/DC topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 2008 with the hit "Rock n' Roll ____________":
Tonight I'm playing without my usual friends as ROCKET and LITBOX with a group up at the bar. We join forces just before this game at the suggestion of Ron CHATZ.
Here's how my game went and my comments: TuneUp...ROCKET...4000/5000...4th/10...MAXDOG, MRBOBO and JEREMY win with 4500. .............LITBOX...4000/5000...4th/10...I go 0 for 2 in guessing taking suggestions from the group. The LineUp...ROCKET...12000/15000...1st/10...my two boards win round. ...........LITBOX...12000/15000...1st/10. I got 8 right out of 10 for a good round. Rick MAXDOG gave us one that I wouldn't have got and someone else steered me wrong on another one. I got one right that I wasn't sure of but the word was don't shout the answer unless you're sure it's right. Triviaoke...ROCKET...17470/25000...1st/10...MAXDOG wins round. ..........LITBOX...17420/25000...2nd/10...I take three -250s in this round Opening Act...ROCKET...20720/35000...2nd/10...GORDO wins round. ................LITBOX...20670/35000...3rd/10. The pound-key round. I must have gone four for 1000, one for +250, four for -250 and one I didn't answer for a disappointing round. Headliner...ROCKET....41790/56250...2nd/10. ............LITBOX...41920/56250...3rd/10. AC/DC...The band I know the least about. I have one of their albums, Black Ice from last year and haven't played it yet. I did see them in person though--when they played at Sars-stock in Toronto when The Rolling Stones headlined. All 10 questions right built up a good score. 1. surname of brothers Angus and Malcolm--Young...2. song from 1980 that enjoyed resurgence in 2006--Back In Black ...3. their debut in 1980--Sydney Australia...4. which highway song is by them--Highway To Hell...5. The Grim Reaper pays a visit on this opening track from Back In Black--Hell's Bells...6. Angus Young wears this on stage--School Uniform 7. Stiff _________ is the latest album--Upper Lip...8. What was Brian Johnson's first album as vocalist--Back In Black ...9. AC/DC had a song about a--Night Prowler...10. All AC/DC albums except--Powerslave Lots of mistakes in these questions. They must have debuted a lot earlier than 1980 in their home town of Sydney well before 1980 as they had at least six albums out before then. Stiff Upper Lip was their album in the year 2000. (A Topix game after this game knew that Susan Boyle debuted with 710,000 just last week). They gave away at least two answers in their extra bits in previous questions--What Angus Young wore on stage and that Brian Johnson took over at vocalist. One of the group getting us "Night Prowler" to keep the bonus points building which I wouldn't have known made up for any mix ups earlier in the game.
Now the Encore betting comes up. Well 50% as usual.

This is easy enough. The group knows the answer too. I can't think of how their tune goes now because I've heard Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" about twenty times last year before Toronto FC soccer games over the last season.
Correct Answer:....2. Train
[NTN Extra Fact:...Rock 'n Roll Train is on AC/DC's 2008 #1 album "Black Ice".]
Duh. Didn't we just read that "Stiff Upper Lip" (from the year 2000) was their last album?
I'm right and stay in 2nd as ROCKET at 62955. I earn 3000+ points for meeting the standard of 18000. I finish 25th overall in North America. The bar is 10th in North America with a 62238 average. Rick MAXDOG wins with 63510 and is 9th on this bar's Hall of Fame.
