My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...4th/5...COSMO, METLCA and PLBAAB win round at 5000. ...........LITBOX...4500/5000...4th/5...I go 0 for 1 in guessing as Phil and Rob get me one each. I'm pleased I'm doing 1000 better than last week. OnBeat...ROCKET...11500/14000...3rd/5...my two boards and COSMO and METLCA win round with 7 of 9. ..........LITBOX...11500/14000...3rd/5...Rob gets me one. I now have the same score as last week. JukeBox...ROCKET...15779/20000...3rd/5...METLCA wins round. ...........LITBOX...15779/20000...3rd/5...no holiday music this week. We couldn't get Destiny's Child first #1 hit. Triviaoke...ROCKET...20088/28000...2nd/5...my two boards win round. ...........LITBOX...20088/28000...2nd/5...one -250 and two for less than 100 points this round. The last question puts me just over the 20000 point mark. The guys get me The Cars song "Magic". Within 10 seconds of our answer, the television sings the Walmart ad with the lyrics "it's true, it's true". Too bad that wasn't a bit earlier then I'd have been thinking about it! Well this score became the minimum I'm satisfied with.

Now the Encore answers come up. Beach Boys songs! Well the pressure should be on me for this. I've been a huge fan of their's for the last seven years. Sure I knew them before that but I started collecting their CDs only that long ago. I hadn't picked an artist that I was a real fan of--Sean for Metallica, Phil for Rush, Rob for Olivia Newton-John.

Nope won't get this from the David Bowie angle but let me read that again. Yep. Got it. I say "'God Only Knows' is the only song from 'Pet Sounds' up there" to make sure my friends got it right. I have the 'Pet Sounds' cassette tape and converted from CD to cassette 'The Beach Boys in Concert' (1973) permanently in my car bag along with the compilation cassette 'Musical Journeys' which helped me out earlier in the month. Everything else I make tapes from to play in my car is soon copied over with whatever new I want to listen to. Tonight marked two months since my mother died so I was thinking on the long subway ride home of how often I've played that song in the last few years as I worried about her.

I'm right and stay in 2nd with both ROCKET and LITBOX at 30132 points. I finish 16th overall in all North America. The bar is 9th in North America with a 29745 average. I earn 3000+ points for making this week's standard of 16000. The scores aren't great so other bars must have found the game difficult like us.
COSMO wins at 30597 and finishes #4 on this bar's Hall of Fame board where the 9th and 10th best score is just over 4000.
