Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX, with Rob COSMO and Sean METLCA/PLBAAB. LeeAnn is here too but not playing after getting a cell phone call after the TuneUp round so Sean takes over the PLBAAB board.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...4000/5000...3rd/6...COSMO and PLBAAB win with 4500. ...........LITBOX...4000/5000...3rd/6...I go 1 for 3 in guessing with help on another one. OnBeat...ROCKET...11000/14000...2nd/6...my two win round with METLCA and PLBAAB. ..........LITBOX...11000/14000...2nd/6...I go 7 right and 2 wrong which was OK. One logical guess was the Nobel Prize concert should be in Oslo Norway (the country that gives out the awards) turned out to be right. JukeBox...ROCKET...15786/20000...5th/7...COSMO wins round and is in lead. ...........LITBOX...15803/20000...4th/7...one choice was James Brown or Classical Composers so I couldn't avoid a 100 point answer. Triviaoke...ROCKET...21051/28000...3rd/7...COSMO wins round. ...........LITBOX...21064/28000...2nd/7...I take two or three -250 for this round and that included the last question which was the current chart hit for Good Charlotte. We were disturbed by the group setting up the Karoake equipment moving a big stand-up speaker right in front of the closest game monitor. Rob got the Good Charlotte song by blind (yep view was blocked) guess and took the lead. We had moved up a table to see this monitor because I was having quite a strain squinting to see the questions. Also they sound-tested their system by blaring a recorded song at double volume.

I was dictating the question into my monitor and then realized from the last few words that it was Sammy Hagar who sang about the speed limit. Sean at about the same time mentioned Diamond Dave so we knew what they were asking. I then named the third guy. This was done at full shouting as the strains of "Is There Something I Should Know" was blasting over the song system. Just half hour earlier we had heard Roth's version of "California Girls" at normal volume over the sound system. Last year we would have been lucky to get the Encore question from just one clue not three.
