NTN Encore Question of November 17th, 2007.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York, Ontario.
Answers:
Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX, with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, and Phil PLBAAB at The Frog & Firkin. LeeAnn is at our table but does not have a board.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...1st/8...my two boards win with METLCA and COSMO. ...........LITBOX...4500/5000...I go 2 for 3 in guessing. OnBeat...ROCKET...12500/14000...1st/8...my two boards win round. ..........LITBOX...12500/14000...1st/8...I go 8 right and 1 wrong and had a few guesses right. JukeBox...ROCKET...16963/20000...2nd/8...METLCA wins round. ...........LITBOX...16982/20000...1st/8. Triviaoke...ROCKET...22643/28000...2nd/8...LITBOX wins round. ...........LITBOX...22721/28000...1st/8...I only take one -250 for this round and it wasn't the 'new' song. This round seemed harder then last week's though.

Now the Encore answers come up. Broadway musicals! That's about my worst category. We've got other troubles though as the restaurant manager has just come over to change our television monitor to the Ultimate Fighting PPV. It doesn't start until 10:00pm so it's just a preamble. He then retreats to the back with his remote control so we can't complain. Can't just 13 out of the 15 monitors on this floor watch the PPV and 2 be on NTN? Well I want a chance to get this Encore so I take my boards to the bar where there's still one monitor turned to NTN (there's three monitors crushed up beside each other so no fight watchers had to crink their necks).
I didn't know who else would follow me over just for this last question but the others did as the manager turned the channel just at the beginning of the break.
Encore Question:...Two people declare their love for each other during "One Hand, One Heart" in the musical:

I don't this one but the title makes it appear like a love song so I pick West Side Story. The only one I know it's not is The Sound of Music which I say definitely not when Phil asks if it's that one. I didn't know if Rob said anything to back me up. Well West Side Story with it's rival street gangs is more likely than a king and a teacher/governess. For some reason I can think of Debbie Gibson singing this song and the setting of New York City. [When I go home I see that she does have a song by that name on her album "Anything Is Possible" but she is credited as writing it in the 1990s so it has nothing to do with that musical. Oh-oh!].
Correct Answer:....5. West Side Story
[NTN Extra Fact:...West Side Story debuted at The Winter Garden Theatre on September 26, 1957.]

I just stay at the bar long enough to lock up the P+ points which took until the second set of questions as I was signed off while looking up my score. Then I went back to my table.
So there's a reason to avoid this bar when there's a PPV. Boxing has died out but this Ultimate Fighting is the new market draw. My friends had trouble getting their orders carried out. Chicken wings overdone; then later chicken wings underdone; a chicken sandwich order forgotten about altogether. I can see why they are upset about this place. I like it because it's the only NTN equiped establishment within walking distance from my home. I just sublimated the change of stations with watching the PPV preamble of seeing some file footage of someone getting slugged out with "Manager's face, manager's face, manager's face" and instantly felt better. Not watching my carry bag left behind at the table I got home and found my friends put a salt shaker inside. Again? I won't be in a hurry to bring this one back.
