NTN Encore Question of August 4th, 2007.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York, Ontario.
Answers:
Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO/METLCA and Phil PLBAAB at The Frog & Firkin.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...3rd/9...PLBAAB and METLCA win at 5000. ..........LITBOX...4500/5000...3rd/9...5 way tie for 3rd. I was 0 for 1 in guessing. Good that I knew everything else this week. OnBeat...ROCKET...12500/14000...2nd/9...my two boards and PLBAAB win round. ..........LITBOX...12500/14000...2nd/9. I was 8 right and 1 wrong for this week which was great. Rob got me the first answer about Sting's lawsuit and I was mostly fine from that point on. JukeBox...ROCKET...18473/20000...3rd/9...LITBOX wins round. ...........LITBOX...18480/20000...2nd/9. Triviaoke...ROCKET...24005/28000...2nd/8...ROCKET won this round. .........LITBOX...24006/28000...1st/8. I took one -250s this round which was the final question of the round for the 'new' song. Fergie's single. Also Phil got us the Radiohead lyrics to avoid a -250...instead +44 points.

Now the Encore answers come up. Old groups. This could be about anything but I'm thinking song or album title.
Encore Question:...What group featured members of Manfred Mann, Derek & The Dominoes and Blind Faith?

.
I said Eric Clapton was in the first two groups before the question came up. When the question came up, I know Eric Clapton was also in Derek & The Dominoes and Blind Faith. What about the other two guys in Cream? What were they in? Ginger Baker's Air Force and...I'm in for Cream. I have a greatest hits collection of The Yardbirds and knew there were many group members over the years. Then Ten Years After started to bother me...the other two were American groups so no trouble pitching them out. I'm out of time...
Correct Answer:....1. Cream
[NTN Extra Fact:...Cream's lineup included Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton.]
I'm right and win with LITBOX at 36009. I finish 7th in North America. The bar is 6th in North America with a 34550 average. I earn 3000+ points for making this week's standard of 15000. I place 1st on this bar's Top 10 Hall of Fame. That's five places as LITBOX and one as ROCKET. I'm not sure why it worked out that way.
[NTN.com moved us up to 4th place out of 1888 bars. Wow moving up is a rarity.]

I arrive later than usual coming directly from watching the Caribana parade downtown. I've been sunburned but know this won't bother me until the next few days. I've got my camera with me and take a few more pictures to make 333 for the day! Good thing it's a digital camera. This seems to be the one week a year when I bring my camera to the pub. It was Abby's last day working here. She will leave for a one year assignment to teach English in Spain. We'll miss her even though she was only here three months. She is the person who mentioned to us about The Unicorn pub.
Robin ROCKET/LITBOX still wearing beads from the parade and Abby. Easy to tell which one of us is going to be sunburned from the nose down in the next few days.
