NTN Encore Question of July 28th, 2007.
Played at The Unicorn in Toronto, Ontario.

Answers:

  1. Dirty Diana--Thriller
  2. 1984--Jump
  3. Can't Slow Down--Hello
  4. Hysteria--Love Bites
  5. Bad Animals--Alone

Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO/METLCA and Phil PLBAAB at The Unicorn.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/6...our five boards win.
..........LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/6.
I had some help in this round.
OnBeat...ROCKET...13000/14000...3rd/6.
..........LITBOX...13000/14000...3rd/6.
I was 8 right and 1 wrong for this week which was great with the right help for a few answers. Phil and Rob's
METLCA board went 9 for 9.
JukeBox...ROCKET...17911/20000...4th/6...PLBAAB in lead with 19983.
...........LITBOX...17892/20000...5th/6.
I thought I'd know the Three Dog Night question but it was match the song with the album. Ooh I hate that
I said not knowing that we'd have that as the Encore question. I own a 20 greatest hits compilation but I don't
think there were liner notes.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...23766/28000...2nd/6...ROCKET won this round.
.........LITBOX...22170/28000...3rd/6.
I took one -250s this round and one for about 166 points. Many of the lyrics had the actual song title
as the answer so I was fine.

Now the Encore answers come up. I'm sure I know it before the question is asked so I'll comment later.

Encore Question:...Which #1 hit of the 80's is mismatched with the album on which it debuted?

.

I do know this right away. I saw the first song and said "Hey 'Dirty Diana' was on 'Bad'" before the question came up. Now it was just a worry to see either the question would be worded as 'which of these don't match' OR 'all of these don't match except...' but the answers have disappeared before I can really check them all out. OK. Here's the question... OK, it is very easy. This could be one of our best scoring games.

Correct Answer:....1. Dirty Diana--Thriller

[NTN Extra Fact:...'Dirty Diana' which hit #1 on July 8, 1988 appeared on Jackson's 1987 release 'Bad'].

We've never been to this place before but it was recommended. We weren't sure if this being the last weekend of Joe Mercury's, that the place was starting to be pulled apart. This place is near Yonge and Eglinton Ave--what would be called mid-town Toronto. It is a lot closer to my home but it's about five streets away from the subway station so I'm not saving that much time.

This bar is named The Unicorn because it was started by members of the singing group The Irish Rovers and this song was their biggest hit. They were very famous in Canada with their mix of Irish pub songs and had a television show years ago. The decor is like a Victorian parlour. Their was a live band but they played Top 40 and Rock classics.

I drink Moosehead so they gave me two scratch and win cards for the two pints I had tonight. One of them was a winner so I got to choose a prize. The black t-shirt with the green moosehead cameo was the best choice of what they had to offer. Wow an even better night!
