NTN Encore Question of November 4th, 2006.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.

Answers:

  1. Fastball
  2. The All American Rejects
  3. The Fray
  4. Jimmy Eat World
  5. Fall Out Boy

Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, and Phil PLBAAB.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/6...my two boards win with COSMO.
..........LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/6.
I guessed one and was right.
OnBeat...ROCKET...12000/14000...1st/6...the five of us get the same score to co-win.
..........LITBOX...12000/14000...1st/6.
7 right and 2 wrong was alright and I needed help with one to get that good.
JukeBox...ROCKET...16974/20000...4th/6...METLCA wins round.
...........LITBOX...16986/20000...3rd/6.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...22555/28000...3rd/6...COSMO wins round.
.........LITBOX...22566/28000...2nd/6.
I took one -250 on the last question.

Now the Encore answers come up. These are new bands with current hits. Oh-oh. This could be members of groups and I don't expect to know that.

Encore Question:...2005's "Move Along" is the second album released by which US band?:

.

.

I don't know this. Sean offers up an answer first. '2' on a total guess. I'm trying to narrow in groups that have albums out recently. I say Fastball has been around too long (for only two albums) and The Fray are just out this week (which makes it hard for me to believe that they would release two albums in two years). After I'd answered, I felt better thinking the other two groups had titles with much longer names but I couldn't think of either right then. ["Futures" and "From Under The Cork Tree"--I own that second one].

Correct Answer:....2. The All American Rejects

[NTN Extra Fact:...The album includes the hit "Dirty Little Secrets".]

This should have been much easier as the album is still on the Billboard Album charts after 66 weeks and I was just reading through the Top 200 earlier in the day with my copy of the magazine. Then I would have nailed it and we would have had all of us get it right.

I'm right and win as LITBOX with 33849. I finish 8th overall on the Network Top 20 in all North America. The bar is 16th in North America with a 27802 average. I earn 3000+ points for making this week's standard of 16000 points. [ntn.com kept us in 16th place out of 1662 bars].

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank	ntn.com rank
COSMO	22878	x	11439	3886	1589
LITBOX	22566 33849 8 32
ROCKET	22556 33832 9 33
METLCA	20020 30030 28 117
PLBAAB	19909 29863 29 122
MADDOG 7054	x 3527	8115	4456
[ntn.com listed 6742 players]

More than 20 perfect scores at other bars. This was a rerun of last Saturday's Retro TV game.

Next week Rob and Sean will be at a concert in Niagara Falls so it may be just Phil and me and we'll be back at this bar.
