NTN Encore Question of May 20th, 2006.
Played at Joe Mercury's in Toronto Ontario

Answers:

  1. LeAnn Rimes
  2. Martina McBride
  3. Shania Twain
  4. Faith Hill
  5. Trisha Yearwood

Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA and Phil PLBAAB. The waitress brought me two boards so I wouldn't have to beg for a second one at the other bar counter. Now we've got our five boards to rank the bar. Phil gets up to turn one of the monitors to the NTN station so we don't have to crowd around the table like a television sitcom. Who needs a remote if you're tall enough?

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...3500/5000...2nd/9...SLEDOG wins round.
..........LITBOX...3500/5000...2nd/9.
This is pretty bad and I needed help on one and guess another right to this well.
OnBeat...ROCKET...11500/14000...1st/9...my two and METLCA win round.
..........LITBOX...11500/14000...1st/9.
8 right and 1 wrong was great as the questions were sort of mainstream. Didn't know that Kanye West was being
sued for not returning a rental SUV.
JukeBox...ROCKET...17081/20000...1st/9...my two boards win round.
...........LITBOX...17081/20000...1st/9.
Two Gordon Lightfoot questions but they wanted Heavy Metal and it bit us when we didn't know the brothers
in Pantera.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...21563/28000...2nd/9...METLCA wins round.
.........LITBOX...21563/28000...2nd/9.
I take two -250 this round (what else is new?) and save one answer for 20 points.

Now the Encore answers come up. Country women. This could be difficult. I'd picked up some early LeAnn Rimes during the week, wouldn't that be ironic if that was the answer?

Encore Question:..."Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" was the first big hit for this Country superstar:

Easy! Actually everyone in the bar got this question right but this is Toronto and this artist's music has been played here for years.

Correct Answer:....3. Shania Twain

[NTN Extra Fact:...The single taken from the album "The Woman In Me" reached Number 11 oon the Country charts.]

We could have done better in this game but Phil turned the television monitor again to one of the bar's in-house/security cams where we watch the Karaoke singers. The biggest laugh is for Jerry who the boys have begging to hear him sing "Delilah". Part of the fun is he thinks he's good and reminds everyone to buy their Tom Jones tickets for an upcoming concert. I'm usually out of sight for the stage but now watching i see that almost everyone is like a statue. I guess they don't want to lose their place reading the lyrics.
