Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, and Phil PLBAAB. I got a board when I arrived which was the last one in the rack of ten at the bar but when we noticed later there were more than ten boards playing, I went to the other counter down a staircase and got one from there. Now we had five boards, enough to rank the bar without relying on others. I never thought that this place has become easier to get boards than The Frog & Firkin which has downgraded to one rack of ten boards.

OnBeat...ROCKET...13000/14000...1st/12...our five boards go 8 for 9 to co-win round. ..........LITBOX...13000/14000...1st/12. 8 right and 1 wrong was great as I'd never heard of the answer we missed. JukeBox...ROCKET...17869/20000...2nd/12...METLCA wins round. COSMO has lead at 17940. ...........LITBOX...17822/20000...3rd/12. Triviaoke...ROCKET...22817/28000...3rd/12...METLCA wins round. .........LITBOX...22765/28000...4th/12. I took two -250 this round. Rob got me one I didn't know but Sean pulled me off it. Sean has made a comeback after starting last when someone tried to log onto his frequency before the game costing him the first question.

Now the Encore answers come up. It's hard to think with the karaoke starting half hour early because of a birthday party. Let's make sure everybody risks 50%. My LITBOX board has faded so much as the game's gone on that I can't read the screen anymore.

I knew it after the first two words! I didn't give the others the time to read the question before I was shouting it out over the volume of the karaoke noise. I wanted that one as Rob was calling out many answers a split second before me in previous rounds. Paul Weller is a solo act now and was in town earlier this year. No decisions about splitting the final answer although I've changed my mind and will do that if needed from now on.
My thoughts go from thinking of their song "A Town Called Malice" to their song "Down In The Tube Station At Midnight" as earlier tonight I avoided a fight with some tough guy smoking on the subway platform.

Sean was a good sport and admitted later he didn't know the answer. I celebrate the next day on a trek downtown to replace a defective Rick James CD by buying a larger collection of greatest hits by The Jam than the one I owned from years ago on cassette tape.

There was the Dodge Truck pull mini-game tonight...I split my boards and covered one of the right ones. "1. White" won and ROCKET got it and I earned 500+ points.
