  1. Bobby Darin
  2. Eddie Cochran
  3. Buddy Holly
  4. Jimi Hendrix
  5. Sam Cooke

Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO/PLBAAB and Sean METLCA giving us the minimum five boards to rank our bar. It's my first time playing in a month and I'm sure glad of the help all evening.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...4000/5000...4th/5...METLCA, COSMO, and PLBAAB co-win round.
..........LITBOX...4000/5000...4th/5.
I don't keep up with them as I change on a question at the last second with the logic "How could David Seville win a
Grammy in 1958 for 'The Chipmunk Song' when the song only made #1 on Christmas week 1958, the week I was born?".
OnBeat...ROCKET...12000/14000...1st/5...my two win round.
..........LITBOX...12000/14000...1st/5.
8 right and 1 wrong is great but I needed a lot of help here. I guess a new Canadian group band name as 'Wolf Parade'
to pull ahead. More Canadian answers were the name of Canadian JD Fortune's 'new' band as INXS and the name of
Nickelback's new album. I haven't being paying close attention to music in the last month and went to a photography
trade show today instead of reading my copy of Billboard.
JukeBox...ROCKET...16186/20000...2nd/5...METLCA wins round.
...........LITBOX...16193/20000...1st/5.
Some categories I didn't want. A Canadian answer had Shania Twain's perfume name.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...21715/28000...2nd/5...LITBOX wins round.
.........LITBOX...21731/28000...1st/5.
I took only 1 -250 in this round and one switch for +31 and lots of good scores thanks to help.

Now the Encore answers come up. Old rockers? What could this be about. Death of them?

Encore Question:...This music legend's last concert was at a place called 'The Surf Ballroom':

I don't know this. With four questions about Canadians tonight and the question about 'The Chipmunk Song' I thought this was an omen to guess Eddie Cochran because I've passed the stretch of highway in England where he died. I knew the English were wild about American music so it would be ironic anything about surfing so far away from that craze. Tom Cochrane (Life Is A Highway) is a famous Canadian musician and a cousin of Eddie despite their surname spelling. The others have split between some of the other choices but no one knows for sure.

Correct Answer:....3. Buddy Holly

[NTN Extra Fact:...Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper died in a plane crash the next day.]

Well that's ironic too as who'd expect playing in a snowstorm in Iowa (I'd thought Minnesota) they'd play at a place named like that? It's been many years since I've seen the movie. Phil who usually plays as PLBAAB arrived just while the scores were flashing. The three of them are more movie buffs than me and none of us could remember if the place was mentioned in the movie "The Buddy Holly Story" (or "La Bamba").

I'm wrong and drop to 2nd as LITBOX at 10866. I finish 298th in North America. The bar is 464th. COSMO guesses right and wins. I earn only 1500+ points for not making this week's standard of 20000. [NTN.com moved us up to 56th out of 1538 bars with a 14521 average]

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank	ntn.com rank
LITBOX	21731	x	10866 298	1152
ROCKET	21715	x	10858 299	1154
COSMO	20693 31039 8 17
PLBAAB	20208	x	10104 325	1298
METLCA	19482	x 9741 335	1382
DEPA 0	x 0	9999	----
MUIC 0	x 0	9999	----
BOOZO 0	x 0	----	----
(NTN.com listed 5920 players)
