Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Bill MADDOG and Jim JEREMY (nickname named for his son).

No real guessing here since Jim knew the Michael Jackson case lawyers on each side. OnBeat...ROCKET...12000/14000...1st/4...ROCKET, LITBOX, and MADDOG win round. ..........LITBOX...12000/14000...1st/4. I go 7 for 9. Stupid season hasn't started for me yet as I only had one soccer event this week. One more review through the news would have given me the Springsteen Tour first date but I had no time getting home late after limping home from a Travel show today in the rain with a suddenly broken windshield wiper. I got the Canadian group question right (didn't even know they were from Canada) but have never heard their music. JukeBox...ROCKET...18000/20000...1st/4...my two boards win round. ...........LITBOX...18000/20000...1st/4. Great. I ran the category here for a perfect round. Two Beatles Wives and two Kylie Minogue questions (one I wasn't sure of) helped pick up my game. Triviaoke...ROCKET...20032/28000...1st/4...ROCKET wins round. .........LITBOX...19996/28000...2nd/4. I took three -250s and had some late changes or I would have lost even more. One correct answer for LITBOX was +5 points! I could only watch LITBOX sag below 20000 from the last four questions.

Now the Encore answers come up. Well I'd already resolved to split before I even started playing tonight. I don't know much about these groups at all. Should be either band members or album titles.

I don't know this. So which band is English? Well I throw out Trash Can Sinatras because I thought they were from New York [nope actually from Scotland]. Well I say Gene, James, and Inspiral Carpets are English. First board on Gene, next on James who are definately English but so are the Inspiral Carpets. Hmm. I spend the rest of the time wrestling whether I should switch Gene for Inspiral Carpets but no way was I changing James.
Gene? If it was 'Gene Loves Jezebel', I could have thrown that answer out. So I have a 50% chance of being right by splitting (actually even less because I was wrong about Trash Can Sinatras).

I'm right on my lower ranked LITBOX board and win with 29994. I finish 10th in all North America. The bar finishes 850th with our four boxes the only ones playing. I earn 3000+ points for LITBOX which had that board hit exactly 1 Million Player's Plus points. (ROCKET only earned 1500+ for missing this week's 18000 point standard). [ntn.com moved the bar up to 127th with a 13704 average out of 1911 bars].
C'mon! A score like this being the 10th best in North America (top 100 after multi boards from other boards are considered) shows the Encore's are far too difficult. Who knows how many other players 'split' to make sure they were right?
