Encore Question of February 26th, 2005.
Played at the Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.
Answers:
Tonight I'm playing with two boards as ROCKET and LITBOX with Rob COSMO, Sean METLCA, and Phil PLBAAB who'd arrived just in time.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...1st/10...my two boards co-win round with COSMO and METLCA. ..........LITBOX...4500/5000...1st/10. I'm 1 for 2 in guessing answers and again falter on the 10th question. OnBeat...ROCKET...12500/14000...1st/10...my two boards co-win round with PLBAAB and COSMO. ..........LITBOX...12500/14000...1st/10. I go 8 for 9 in this round. I miss out a tour question about Sting that I'd read a few weeks ago. Someone said it from another booth before I realized they were playing. I'd thought of it too after guessing something else but didn't have time to change. JukeBox...ROCKET...18201/20000...1st/11...my two boards win round. ...........LITBOX...18201/20000...1st/11. I did excellent in this round with lots of help although alone I might have chosen different categories. The guys at my table knew the answers right off for the ones I didn't. I think overall they boosted my score by at least 2000. Triviaoke...ROCKET...24674/28000...1st/11...COSMO wins round. .........LITBOX...24674/28000...1st/11. I took only one -250 again this week so was quite pleased.

Now the Encore answers come up. Quite a variety of choices. I don't even think of any similarities while dictating the scores so far.
Encore Question:...His "Solsbury Hill" is a song of pride and liberation:

I only dictate three words of this question before blurting out Peter Gabriel. I know he did this song. Everybody in? I turn around to the booth beside ours and make sure they have the answer. "I own this album". (well pretty sure as the first four Peter Gabriel albums were all called "Peter Gabriel"). [Yep I've got three out of four of them]. Hey we've got a score good enough for the Top 10.
Correct Answer:....3. Peter Gabriel
[NTN Extra Fact:..."Grab your things, I've come to take you home" sings Gabiel on the moving 1977 recording.]
Now if they'd turned this into a Triviaoke style Encore I'd have been in trouble because I only remember him singing the title line and the flute in this song.
I'm right and win as LITBOX and ROCKET at 37011. As LITBOX I finish 8th on the Network Top 20 in all North America. The bar finishes 6th in North America with a 36071 average. I earn 3000 Players Plus points for making this week's standard of 19000. I finish 2nd on the bar's Hall Of Fame board knocking off one of my lower scores. [NTN.com ended up knocking us down to 7th out of 2163 bars].
Here's how the rest of the bar did: Player preEncore Final Rank ntn.com rank LITBOX 24674 37011 8 48 ROCKET 24674 37011 8 49 COSMO 24618 36927 9 51 PLBAAB 23449 35173 14 75 METLCA 22822 34233 22 96 NOBODY 13715 x 6858 ---- 5182 SPEACH 11972 17958 714 1943 SCARR 11338 17007 ---- 2134 JUGS 4648 5112 7356 6580 BIGWIG 3388 5082 7372 6604 [NTN.com listed 11472 players.
