Tonight I'm playing with Steve MACE/DOGGI. I knew I'd seen Steve before but it wasn't since last year (July 26, 2003) as this isn't his regular bar.

Some of the headlines I'd heard in the mainstream press and some things like Eddy Van Halen's son 'Wolfgang' I'd stored away from twenty years ago. I didn't think this would be the round to let me down! I had to switch at a lot of final clue answers. The two closest challengers stayed out of a few questions taking '0' rather than '-250'. I know I took at least one -250 but it could have been two.

Now the Encore answers come up. I'm not even thinking of the challenge here but risk the usual 50%. I haven't quite made my own 20000 point standard before the Encore round. The quiz makers sure love Sarah McLachlan is what I said to Steve.

I was still thinking about Sarah McLachlin and know she signed with Nettwork in Canada in 1988. Some of these artists seemed too new for 1994. The only way you could be unsigned and have a Number 1 song is to be on a soundtrack I'm thinking. Steve has already called out Lisa Loeb and I fill in the song and soundtrack title. [Of course the next day I think it would have been even easier to think just strictly on Number 1 songs by any of these artists as she's still the only one to make the top of the charts].
I'm right and win as ROCKET with 29319. I finish 41st in North America. I earn only 3000 Players Plus points for meeting this week's 17000 standard. The bar finishes 19th in North America with a 21219 average. [ntn.com moved us down to 28th].
