Encore Question of February 14th, 2004.
Played at the Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.

Answers:

  1. All My Loving
  2. Hey Jude
  3. Get Off My Cloud
  4. Yesterday
  5. Get Back

Tonight I'm playing with two boards, ROCKET and LITBOX with Richard BERGIE, Kimmo KAV, and Don MOLLY. Richard and I were leading the way calling out the answers.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/5...my two co-win round with BERGIE and KAV.
.............LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/5.
OnBeat...ROCKET...13000/14000...1st/5...my three boards co-win round with BERGIE...8 right, 1 wrong...Richard got the
answer I missed but missed one of my guesses.
...........LITBOX...12000/14000...1st/8.
JukeBox...ROCKET...17668/20000...2nd/5...BERGIE wins round and has lead with 17908.
...........LITBOX...17661/20000...3rd/5.
The others want "No Doubt" as the category but it ends up me having to blurt out the answers.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...23387/28000...1st/7...ROCKET wins round.
.........LITBOX...23377/28000...2nd/7...I get one -250 and one for plus 81 in this round changing my answers with one
question stumping the bar that wasn't even one of the two answers I was switching between.

Now the Encore answers come up. One of these songs doesn't belong but they wouldn't make it this easy I reasoned.

Encore Question:...The Beatles opened with this song for their historical debut on The Ed Sullivan Show:

.

When I see the question, I realize I could have trouble with this as now that I know it's a Beatles song, I can only get rid of the Rolling Stones song "Get Off My Cloud". I've got to wait until the answers come back. Earlier in the week a DVD was released compiling the group's first few appearances on this show but I don't remember reading a song order list even when I saw the DVD box at the electronics store. OK there, the possible answers are back. Wait I can get this because all the other songs except "All My Loving" weren't early Beatles hits. I spread the word about the answer. Hmm "Hey Jude" in 1968, then that Rolling Stones song, "Yesterday" in 1966 [actually 1965], and "Get Back" in 1969. This could have been a lot harder if they'd mixed in songs they offered in the Extra Fact section.

Correct Answer:....1. All My Loving

[NTN Extra Fact:...Their set also included "Till There Was You" and "She Loves You".] .......................Hey all three with Paul on lead vocals.

I'm right and win with ROCKET at 35081. I finish 44th in North America. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's standard of 18000. The bar finishes 18th in North America with a 33095 average. [ntn.com later bumps us down to 19th of 2170 bars].
