Tonight I'm playing alone with my two boards. I'm having a great game with over 23000 before the Encore round. Having an almost perfect game in the RetroTV Countdown in the last half hour drove away most of the other players. The only reason for that is the game had EXACTLY the same questions as the week before. I wonder if they'll do that for nine weeks in a row like January-February earlier this year. I was ready to move to a table to play Playback with a guy I know from work but he disappeared before the game started. Most be my loveable personality.

There were two I didn't know but guessed 'fill in the blank' questions that made the most sense. I was in so fast with my answer that I didn't even 'think about' it and that turned out to be the answer. I had membership in the Kylie fan club in England in 1988 but she was almost unknown in North America after that one year.

I answer this right away as Joni Mitchell but have my doubts with her link to Graham Nash. Well let's rule out Helen Reddy and Karen Carpenter because I know enough about their personal history. That still leaves three that it could be. Ron, a patron at the bar has an opinion as I am talking out loud into my microrecorder. "I think it's Linda Ronstadt". Hmm, I'd been thinking that too. It's possible. "Not Joni Mitchell?" "It could be", he said. OK that's all I wanted to hear. Unless he was sure then I'm not changing. I didn't have time to run around the bar and tell the other players.
