Tonight I'm playing with alone with three boards. I reached 20000 points on one of my boards with one board just under and another dieing in the Triviaoke round.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...4000/5000...1st/6...my three boards win round.
...........LITBOX...4000/5000...1st/6.
...........HITMEN...4000/5000...1st/6.
OnBeat...ROCKET...11000/14000...1st/6...my three boards win round.
..........LITBOX...11000/14000...1st/6...7 right, 2 wrong.
...........HITMEN...11000/14000...1st/6...An improvement over last week with getting the first seven right then missing
the last two. Not expecting to be here tonight until 24 hours earlier got me to go out for a Billboard magazine and
spend an hour or two reading up which didn't exactly make up for weeks of neglect.
JukeBox...ROCKET...14090/20000...2nd/7...LITBOX wins round.
...........LITBOX...14145/20000...1st/7.
...........HITMEN...13777/20000...3rd/7...only three right for good points here. Bad categories but only myself to blame
as I could tip the vote for what I wanted.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...19974/28000...2nd/8...LITBOX wins round.
...........LITBOX...20035/28000...1st/8...About two -250s.
...........HITMEN...14378/28000...3rd/8...This board died at the beginning of the round, I saw at the beginning
of the game that was happening but I hadn't turned it on. Dougie had left it on the counter of the bar.

Now the Encore answers come up. Jazz stars? No there's somebody who isn't one. Two of these guys I've never heard of.

Encore Question:..."Memphis Underground" is the seminal 1969 album by this jazz legend:

.

.

.

I don't know this but try anyway. Duane Eddy is famous for his surf guitar instrumentals so I don't think he ever changed his style. Stan Getz and Herbie Mann are the only guys I've ever heard of. Pick one! OK Stan then but NTN very rarely picks '2' as an Encore answer.

Correct Answer:....3. Herbie Mann

[NTN Extra Fact:...The album was one of the first recordings to be considered 'fusion'].

I win as ROCKET with only 10017 and LITBOX with 9987. I'm ranked 43rd and 44th in Canada (?). I earn only 1500+ points for not meeting this week's 20000 point standard. The bar is ranked 8th in Canada with a 9165 average although only 12 boards show up.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank
LITBOX	20035	x	10017	43
ROCKET	19974	x 9987	44
HITMEN	14378	x 7189	50
KIRK 9468	x 4734	56
SBSP 7295 9483	45
UB 7039 9151	46
SQUID 6529	x 3265	60
PYROS 892	x 446	67

Those rankings are suspiciously high leaving me feeling that we were not connected to the main board. That didn't happen in any other game.

Other games:...I start the evening with 2,655,500 for ROCKET and 488,000 for LITBOX.
8:00pm...Countdown...ROCKET...10142/15000...1st/2...1000+ points...I'm 270th in NA?...bar is 1157th.
.............LITBOX...10134/15000...2nd/2...1000+ points...278th in NA.
8:30pm...RetroTV...ROCKET...11769/15000...2nd/4...1000+ points...I'm 347th in NA...bar is 744th in Canada.
..............LITBOX...11773/15000...1st/4...1000+ points...I'm 579th in Canada.
9:00pm...Playback (see above).
10:00pm...Countdown...ROCKET...10457/15000...2nd/7...1000+ points...I'm 2217th in NA...bar is 549th.
...............LITBOX...10478/15000...1st/7...1000+ points...I'm 2201st in NA.
10:30pm...Countdown...ROCKET...13485/15000...1st/7...1000+ points...I'm 10th in NA on the Network Top 20...bar is 270th.
............LITBOX...13448/15000...2nd/7...1000+ points...I'm 12th in NA.

I didn't enjoy playing alone tonight. I didn't know I'd be here until the night before when the local soccer league announced that this weekend's slate of games had been postponed because of the fear of more blackouts that plagued this city from Thursday to Friday afternoon and beyond. I'd already told my friends I wouldn't be here tonight. The bar seemed empty from the summer lull and probably this blackout fear.
