Encore Question of July 26th, 2003.

Answers:

  1. Jim Croce
  2. Jethro Tull
  3. Genesis
  4. Cat Stevens
  5. Sly & The Family Stone

I wasn't playing tonight but just walked in almost at the end of the JukeBox round to see who was at The Frog & Firkin. Noone I knew was playing NTN but at the bar was one guy (Steve) running five boards all by himself and behind him were two guys working one board. He had taken over these boards as other patrons left as I recognized two player names.

I helped during the Triviaoke round but no better than when I play myself. Going into the Encore round most of his boards averaged over 16 thousand. (looking at the recap on the Playback message board, I don't know how much better I would have done because the OnBeat round looked tough).

OK here comes the Encore. Should be about the 1970s. Steve bets 50% on each board as he says the point standard is 18000. Great.

Encore Question:..."The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" is a 1970's double album.

I know this and blurt the answer. Steve says he knew it too. I make sure the other team knows it too. I had just bought their album 'Wind & Wuthering' on Wednesday as I started buying their early 'artsy' albums a few months ago. Sound good picking the berries in our backyard. This group was talked about at school between Kiss and Styx conversations. I say Lamb is the first album after Peter Gabriel left. OK show me up.

Correct Answer:...3. Genesis

[NTN Extra Fact:...It was the last Genesis with frontman Peter Gabriel.] Ok my dates were off.

All boards are correct. The bar is 4th in Canada with a 24679 average. Now that's interesting as we seem to split off from the United States because that score shouldn't be good enough for a Top 20 ranking.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank
MASE	17073 25609 19
DOGGI	16953 25429 87
LIMBAH	16600 24900 293
MRBILL	16208 24312 522
ZIGGY	15431 23147 976
D	13668 20502	2007

I had just got here after driving from watching a soccer game. The same thing will happen next week but I won't even be near the area at 9pm. Another meeting doesn't seem likely because this isn't Steve's regular bar and he doesn't come out Saturday nights. August 9th I will probably be here then miss the week after that. Any of my friends want to see me or avoid me better take those dates into consideration.
