Tonight I'm playing with an easier to manage two boards in a group as we've got Nick IAMINU/PIZDA, Doug CRANKY, and Paul ZUKEE who I hadn't seen in a few years. I once again wasn't able to get to 20000 points before the Encore but it was three rounds that I was disappointed in my scores.

Triviaoke...ROCKET...18824/28000...2nd/10...LLLL (who started halfway through game wins round). ...........LITBOX...18828/28000...1st/10...some wrong answers and some below 100 switches. No really modern songs for me to get wrong.
My friends are even further behind. Now the Encore comes up and it's all the names of game show hosts. With the choices I say it will be Chuck Woolery. "He had the song 'Deck Of Cards'" [a song about a soldier caught playing cards in church and he talks his way out of trouble by having a position for every card like TEN Commandments, THREE men on a cross etc] I said while picturing the face of Wink Martindale. I guess it was seeing the letter 'W' made me cross the names when I didn't see Wink's name as a choice. I think that question has been asked in other games so it won't be that easy? OK better wait.

I don't know this and only mentally eliminate Alex Trebek who would be still be the quizmaster of the high school student game show "Reach For The Top" in Canada back then. I'm still going with mistaken logic that Chuck Woolery/Wink Martindale had one top 40 hit so why not another? A suggestion for Pat Sajak from Nick. Paul says Regis Philbin. "Why do you say that?" I ask. "I just know, I read it somewhere". Well that's good enough for me. OK everyone's in for Regis. We had a question about Regis in an earlier game tonight.

Now I suddenly realize for a selfish reason why I never listened to Paul over the years. The guys are apologizing to me as my answer would have been right but for the wrong reasons. We didn't deserve it anyway. I couldn't find a Canadian team in the Top 20 on the scores listed so I suppose asking about a station not carried in Canada was NTN making up for the Larry Gowan question of last month.
I win as noone else in the bar gets it right nor bets conservatively. I end up with scores of 9414 and 9412. I'm ranked 7034th and 7035th in North America. I earn only 1500+ points for not making this week's 20000 points standard. I don't even notice our bar ranking. [ntn.com put it at 657th of 2091 with an 8373 average].
