Tonight, after earlier finding out that Rob and Sean weren't going to be at Frog & Firkin, I took the subway to midtown Toronto to play at the Bull & Firkin expecting to find the same Regulars as two weeks ago but instead I saw Richard BERGIE/GENRAL who I hadn't seen in months and Kimmo KAV, old time regulars from the Frog. Richard and I played two boards each to try to get a Network ranking.

The answers come up and I feel I should get this one right with any question about these bands. I'd mentioned earlier that a lot of answers in this game were '5' and Richard said that means the Encore answer will be '1'. If we get this right we should have a >30000 point average and rank this bar with none of their Regulars here. OK bring it on!.

I see the title and blurt out the answer before the answers come back on then start singing the chorus. I'd resolved to let everyone have a chance to think of an answer and just say something like "I know it" and say it with maybe 10 seconds to go but I'm such a fan of this band that all that was forgotten. Richard thanked me later because he said he didn't know.

I continued to get little jolts on the way home. I found a newspaper box had been filled with the new issue of computer, then in the subway I read that the computer I want is available for sale (now I'll wait a few months for the price to come down). Then at home to look up the Beach Boy CD that I have the song on and I find out that the song I've been humming all week "Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring" was on the same "Smiley Smile/Wild Honey" 'two-fer'! If I'd have bothered to look that up before I went out tonight, I'm sure I would have fallen off my bar stool.

The Playback message board had encouraged everyone to use a handle like FATVIC or VICTUB to 'salute' a boor of a player in the US but I thought it would be a longshot from the story that the guy would even show up so I ignored them. Hey, I've got my own ego and I want to see my name lit up on the Network Top 20!
