Encore Question of November 30th, 2002.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.
Answers:
Tonight I'm playing on two boards with Rob COSMO and Sean METLCA/CAPER. We'd started off fast even though we missed two in the OnBeat round. We really fumbled around in Triviaoke with me taking about three -250s on the song lyrics. It took me until the last question to reach 20000 so I was disappointed after a good start.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...ROCKET...5000/5000...1st/9...ROCKET, LITBOX, METLCA, CAPER, COSMO win round. ........LITBOX...5000/5000...1st/9. OnBeat...ROCKET...12000/14000...1st/9...ROCKET, LITBOX, METLCA, CAPER win round. ........LITBOX...12000/14000. JukeBox...ROCKET...17199/20000...1st/8...COSMO wins round. ........LITBOX...17193/20000...3rd/8...we got to control the categories. Triviaoke...ROCKET...20932/28000...4th/8...METLCA wins round. ........LITBOX...20939/28000...3rd/8.
So the answers came up and I don't notice right away that ALL the choices are words for food. Earlier JukeBox questions had that in their questions too "Mashed Potato Time" and "Cold Turkey". The folks at NTN must have written this just before American Thanksgiving. (Canada's was October 14th and I went away that weekend).
Encore Question:..."Salvation" was the first single off this group's 1996 album.

I say I don't know this but when I get thinking about it, I remember that I own this album. So what if last week's Encore was also #1. Ok now I say what I'm choosing and Sean tries to talk Rob out of choosing Korn. I can only repeat my choice and say that Bread broke up back in the 1970s.
Correct Answer:...1. The Cranberries
[NTN Extra Fact:...The album "To The Faithfully Departed" also included "Free To Decide".
Now that song I know a lot better. When I get home my book admits that "Salvation" was never an available retail single but an 'Airplay' hit. Let the Playback message board debate begin.
I'm right and move up one spot. Yikes our five boards split on Phish yet! Well there goes our chance of making the Top 20 bars! I finish with 31398 for ROCKET and 31409 for LITBOX good for 3rd and 2nd place. I'm 675th and 672nd in North America. The bar is 386th (later on the NTN site, it put us 44th). I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's 20000 standard. METLCA wins and is 20th on the North American Top 20.
I should have been more persuasive because only 27xxx would have got us into the Top 20 bars. Looks like the three of us will be here again next week! Their trip to the Bull & Firkin won't be a regular trek.
Here's how the rest of the bar did: Player preEncore Final Rank NTN Top 100 METLCA 22520 33780 20 48 20th on Network Top 20 CAPER 22498 x 11249 6659 LITBOX 20939 31409 672 84 ROCKET 20932 31398 675 85 COSMO 19100 x 9550 7183 C FARF 6682 10023 7023 SMILEE 5194 7791 8671 BIFF 2898 x 1449 9569
Other games:...I start the night with 2,362,500 P+ points for ROCKET and 285,500 for LITBOX.
