Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.

Answers:

  1. Saturday In The Park
  2. Pleasant Valley Sunday
  3. Monday Monday
  4. Ruby Tuesday
  5. Another Saturday Night

Tonight for Playback I'm playing with Doug CRANKY, Bill MADDOG, and Kimmo KAV. I've got three boards going because until this game started just Doug and I were here and we need five boards to get a good bar ranking. The Playback game was supposed to move up an hour starting this week but it didn't happen. Doug had another board going until it conked out. ROCKET and LITBOX were mine and I also had LTATE who was bleeding points because I'd answer that one last needing a third hand. LTATE was a name I used well before my Playback days. It's short for Larry Tate, the 'Yes' man boss on the television show 'Bewitched'. I used that name to make fun of a friend of mine who would blurt out an answer then have to change it maybe twice and say 'told you so' when the correct answer finally came up.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET...4500/5000...1st/9...my three boards and MADDOG co-won round.
.........LITBOX...4500/5000...1st/9.
.........LTATE....4500/5000...1st/9.
OnBeat...ROCKET...11500/14000...1st/9...I co-win round as ROCKET and LITBOX.
.........LITBOX...11500/14000...1st/9...seven right, two wrong wasn't too bad.
.........LTATE....10500/14000...3rd/9.
Jukebox...ROCKET...16632/20000...1st/9...ROCKET wins round.
.........LITBOX...16621/20000...2nd/9.
.........LTATE....15302/20000...3rd/9.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...23045/28000...2nd/14...MADDOG wins round.
.........LITBOX...23076/28000...1st/14.
.........LTATE....21353/28000...4th/14.

Hey that's not bad. Now what would the Encore question be? I'm thinking up the artists of each song. Chicago, Monkees, Mama's And Papa's, Rolling Stones, and Cat Stevens. OK bring it on!

Encore Question:...Which of these songs containing a day of the week in its title was a hit for Sam Cooke?

.

.

No problem for me as I knew the Cat Stevens version was a cover from the day I heard that fact announced on a New Year's Eve countdown show in 1974. I'd forgotten who sang it first but none of the other songs were covers. With the Network Top 20 bar scores so high I realized many people must have used that method. ie. what song don't they know?

Correct Answer:...5 Another Saturday Night

[NTN Extra Fact:...Cooke lamented that "he ain't got nobody"....(missed the rest of it).]

I win with LITBOX at 34567 points. That's good for 26th in North America. The bar is 16th in North America with a 32299 average. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's 20000 point standard.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank	NTN Top 100
LITBOX	23076 34614 26	56
ROCKET	23045 34567 27	58

FABO	15857	x	11100	6633
JACKAS	12960	x	11664	6462
