Encore Question of July 27th, 2002.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.

Answers:

  1. Thom Yorke
  2. Hawksley Workman
  3. Peter Newman
  4. Nigel Pulsford
  5. Robin Goodridge

Tonight I'm playing with Doug CRANKY/PONY who I asked to play a second board because we're the only ones here playing. The place is almost empty tonight. I can manage no more than three boards and even with that many I'm bleeding points to reach for that third board with only two hands. ROCKET/LITBOX as usual and HITMEN named after a local soccer team (lucky there's so many with six letters).

The game has actually not gone so bad but I have to supply most of the answers.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp...ROCKET/LITBOX/HITMEN...5000/5000...1st/5...CRANKY and PONY also finish with 5000.
OnBeat...ROCKET/LITBOX/HITMEN...13000/14000...1st/6...My three are in lead. 8 right, 1 wrong and
I'm quite pleased.
JukeBox...ROCKET...16971/20000...2nd/6...PONY wins round.
..........LITBOX...16981/20000...1st/6.
..........HITMEN...16709/20000...3rd/6...loses some points as I always answer this one last.
Triviaoke...ROCKET...22143/28000...2nd/6...LITBOX wins round.
..........LITBOX...22162/28000...1st/6...33243/28000.
.........HITMEN...32349/28000...3rd/6.

So the answers come up and these names look like they're tough. Only names I recognize are '1' and '2'.

Encore Question:...This Canadian won acclaim for his 1999 debut album "For Him And The Girls".

.

Well Thom Yorke is from the English group Radiohead. Hawksley Workman is a solist from Canada. The other names I don't recognize. Good enough for me. Make sure Doug has that for an answer. Hey Peter Newman is a Canadian journalist sort of like a Walter Cronkite type.

Corect Answer:...2 Hawksley Workman

[NTN Extra Fact:...It was released in the US in early 2001.]
Rob Polinsky of the Playback message board says '4' and '5' are members of the English band 'Bush'.

I'm right and win as LITBOX with 33243. I finished 17th on the Network Top 20 for all North America. The bar finished 6th with a 31348 average. [It only took 19xxx to make the Top 20 and five of the Top 10 and nine of the Top 20 bars were Canadian this week]. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for ROCKET and LITBOX for meeting this week's standard of 18000; HITMEN isn't a P+ player.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank	NTN Top 100
LITBOX	22162 33243 17	32
ROCKET	22143 33215 18	33
HITMEN	21566 32349 19	44
PONY	19400 29100 888	81
CRANKY	19222 28833 972	87
C FARF 2993	x 1497	9531
