Tonight I'm working on two boards and playing with Doug CRANKY, Marlo ZIGGY, and Bill MADDOG. Bill OH YA had been playing with us but stormed off. A non-player named Ron talked through the whole game but wasn't much of a distraction.

I forgot who had most Grammy nominations this year but the other misses were things I'd never heard. Well there goes our bar score I thought. I stayed off the Internet so I could watch Canada play on a tape delay in the Bronze medal game of the Gold Cup soccer tournament without knowing the result. I don't think it would have picked up anything more. These scores look terrible and with me with the lead I move a barstool aside so I can make a run to the METLCA/COSMO/BUMPIG table. The answers come up and my book had fallen open at Chaka Khan. Well I don't bookmark anything seeing as they'll probably ask for a group and I'll just look it up. Marlo says "I don't know who any of those guys are". I tell her what groups '2' and '4' lead knowing I know '3' if I see it but the names had disappeared too soon.

Well I can reason this or look it up. "Hurry Robin". Garrity light, found it there's the answer, tell them, press both my boards, run over to the table and tell the other group, looks like they change their answer but as they left at right after, I'm not sure. Back to the bar to watch my answer all within 30 seconds with 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?' playing in my head and picturing the singer.
I knew Thom Yorke is in Radiohead, Darius Rucker is in Hootie & The Blowfish, Perry Ferrell was in Jane's Addiction (although my mind initial mixed the group with Alice In Chains).

It shouldn't have been a 50/50 guess for me as I've heard interviews with the guy especially at about the time the band came through town opening for Dido. Mark Lanegan turned out to be the singer for Screaming Trees which I didn't know. Still I'll have to give my new book the credit for the answer.
