Hey I'm here for the first time in three weeks and don't expect to be here for another four with soccer games and cottage weekends taking up my time so I was glad I came here tonight. I'm not having a good game because of not having enough time to keep up with the music news. Just reading the mainstream press isn't enough to get a good score in the OnBeat round. I'm playing with Ray MADDOG, Dave COITIS, Bill MADDOG, and Brian (OLDUDE) who used the name ZIPPER when he had to change boards just before this game started.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp....4000/5000...2nd/10...MAC wins with 4500...I'm in 2nd in a three way tie
with INNFO and COITIS.
OnBeat...7500/14000...5th/10...MAC wins round and has lead with 11000. I have 4 right,
2 wrong, and 2 not answered.
JukeBox...11691/20000...6th/11...MAC wins round.
Triviaoke...17955/28000...4th/11...COITIS wins round.

The soccer game from the COPA America has ended and a Western movie was on with Bobby Vinton in a small part. Now wouldn't that be ironic if... My book is open at Luke 2 Live Crew and Lulu but when these answers came up, I closed it to concentrate. I think I knew everybody.

Encore Question:...In the 1970s Daryl Dragon was better known to pop fans as:

.

.

I had gone through the nicknames before the question. James Brown and David Bowie and Village People members but when the answer went off, I just dictated the scores of the other players onto my microrecorder.

A groan went up as we all knew this answer. Ray said it first while I was still dictating the question. What could I add except to mention that he played keyboards for The Beach Boys on their tours and add to comments about their television show?

Correct Answer:...3. The Captain

[NTN Extra Fact:...The Captain & Tenille sang 1975's "Love Will Keep Us Together".]

I'm right and stay in 4th place with 26933. That's good for 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's standard of 15000. Individual rankings are not given this week but our bar ranked 20th on the first run through and 35th for the final score but later in the week the ntn.com site had us at 24th.

Here's how the rest of the bar did:
Player	preEncore	Final	Rank
MAC	21760 32640 75
COITIS	19019 28529
MADDOG	18174 27261
ROCKET	17955 26933
COSMO	17800 26700
METLCA	16162 24243

							 Boys OnBeat Question!)

Richard BERGIE wasn't here tonight but he'd sent a web site address in his e-mail message that connected to a ghost story about this place that got us talking.

For the weeks I missed, I did hear the Encore questions secondhand by a Playback message board I subscribe to but not all the choices were given so I didn't recompose them.

June 30th..."Christmas Island" was an album by: a bunch of reggae stars and Jimmy Buffett were the choices. Jimmy Buffett was the correct answer. It wasn't in my book so I'm glad I wasn't here. The writers had some nerve asking another Jimmy Buffett question in less than a month.

July 7th..."The song of the 1970's was sung by?" Their correct answer was Rod Stewart. A bit confusing but if they meant longest run at Number 1 they didn't offer Debbie Boone nor Queen. Rod did beat out Elton John in the choices the offered.

Looks like I'm the only one who can accurately remember a question.
