Tonight I was doing ok until the Triviaoke round where I faded to 5th and couldn't make my 20000 point goal before the Encore question. I'm playing with Richard BERGIE, Dave COITIS, Bill MADDOG, Paul ZUKEE and Fred QABLNQ.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp...5000/5000...1st/11...5 way tie of ROCKET, BERGIE, QABLNQ, ZUKEE and COITIS. OnBeat...9250/14000...4th/10...COSMO and ZUKEE win round, BERGIE and ZUKEE in lead with 19250. I get 5 right, 3 wrong, 1 not guessed. Some of the questions I recognized from last week. JukeBox...14684/20000...3rd/10...ZUKEE wins round and leads with 16250. Triviaoke...18131/28000...5th/10...COSMO wins round. I got the first one right "What's Up" for full marks as this 4 Non Blondes song they used to play at Lynx games whenever the home team drew a Yellow card. Many -250s costs our bar a good ranking.
Well into the Encore round. I had my book fall open at Nazareth and Naughty By Nature but flip to Randy Newman when the answers came up as well as Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop. Here's the question...

A big groan came out from us. We all knew this one. Bill said it best "...and if I'm wrong, I'll buy everyone in the WORLD a beer" whereas the usual joke is "if I'm wrong, I'll buy everyone in the bar a beer" when we've got a sure answer like earlier tonight in a repeat game.

I stay in 5th place as the whole bar is right. I finish with 27197 points. That's good for 257th in North America. The bar is 134th. [As was pointed out to me later in the week, the ntn site upgraded us to 23rd but claimed we played a repeat game]. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's 16000 point standard.

I was here just after 9:30pm on my way home from a soccer game and got off the subway just outside their door. I wanted some fun after watching the Lynx team lose again and to warn my friends that an American player would be coming to the bar on Tuesday night. Good thing that he finished in the top 20 again this week to help drum up support. "That's the guy who's coming here" I say when he got the 3rd place spot.
Other game:...I start the game with 1432300+ Players Plus points.
9:30pm...Wipeout...12984/15000...5th/12...1000+ points...this was a repeat game from the same time last week. (I'm here in time for the last 13 question)...I'm 45th in NA...the bar is 1st in North America with a 13644 average...COITUS wins with 14499 and he is 1st and BERGIE is 2nd in NA although on the Network Top 20, Dave appears as P+???.
