Tonight I was in 3rd place in our little mini-group as I just spun my wheels in the Triviaoke round getting at least four of the songs wrong and couldn't reach 20000 points in time for the Encore. I was playing with Bill MADDOG, Paul ZUKEE, and Kimmo KAV.
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp....4000/5000...2nd/11 in three way tie with KAV and ZUKEE...MADDOG wins with 4500. OnBeat...10500/14000...1st/11...I win round with KAV and we share lead. JukeBox...16472/20000...1st/11...I win round. Triviaoke...18610/28000...3rd/11...PEZMAN wins round...I get worse in this round every week!

Well sure I'd have time to look this up but I have just been reading about that this week. Not as spooky as tonight's Jukebox round when we saw the category 'Instrumentals' and I said to Bill, "Walk Don't Run", and that turned out to be in the question! I've told Bill and the rest of the group the answer before I've found it in my book but doublecheck and spread the word to TASIA and her boyfriend at the end of the bar.
On my way out tonight I grabbed a copy of the free entertainment paper 'Eye' and there is was the story I'd read yesterday of the new group "Doves" who are playing in Toronto this weekend. I read the story as I'd seen them on Conan O'Brien because I taped the show to see exToronto boy Mike Myers guest. So second paragraph they get to comparing Doves to Happy Mondays and The Smiths (last week's JukeBox) for depressing music. Long history in music as I remember seeing a movie with Herman's Hermits and Peter Noone was singing about the pleasures of watching 'United' play soccer.

I bought a four CD compilation of Canadian music on my walk here tonight and one of the songs was by Copperpenny "Sitting On A Poor Man's Throne". Bill was the original bass player for that band.
