Tonight I'm playing with Richard BERGIE, Bill MADDOG, Doug CRANKY and Paul ZUKEE. For the first part of this Playback game Dave COITUS and Bill OH YA were also at the bar but they moved over to a table. I made my target of 20000 points before the Encore question but could have done a lot better with a good Triviaoke round. The group helped me in the other games but this game was a bit 'too many cooks' but I can't remember screwing them up; well let's hope not, (great selective memory!).
My game so far had gone like this: TuneUp....5000/5000...1st/12 in four way tie with COSMO, ZUKEE, and OH YA although signals were crossed with BERGIE's and OH YA's board. OnBeat...10250/14000...5th/12 with six right and three wrong...CRANKY and METLCA win. METLCA has lead with 12250. I felt good in that the six I got right, I called before the answers came up. This week they ask the Robert Buck/10000 Maniacs question. JukeBox...16249/20000...3rd/13...I win round...COSMO in lead with 16994. Triviaoke...20786/28000...1st/17...SOB wins round.
So the Encore answers come up. Hmm song titles. Well I don't open my book but think I'll know this. I know who sang 1 and 4 but the betting portion round starts. I spend my time dictating the scores so far (good thing as the recap only counts up from positions 17 to 11 before timing out).

Well ok now I know 1,2 and 5 but wait, since I was thinking 'River Deep Mountain High' was Ike and Tina Turner before the question came up, I don't really have to think I don't know 3. That song was playing in my head before the risking started as there was a Tina Turner "Behind The Music" special on the night before and she made the headlines this week as the highest tour gross of the year 2000 over all the young groups. It didn't really matter as others in my group knew it too. I also had time to find it wasn't in my book under Lovin' Spoonful and get over to signal to our spin off group although later they said they couldn't see me.
