Encore Question of October 28th, 2000.
Played at The Frog & Firkin in North York Ontario.

  1. Born To Run
  2. The River
  3. Nebraska
  4. Tunnel Of Love
  5. The Ghost Of Tom Joad

Tonight I'm in 7th place behind The Regulars. Another slow start to TuneUp with 3000. Anyone should get 2500 of 5000 by always guessing '1' or '2'. Six right, three wrong in OnBeat with one right guess out of four. A perfect round in JukeBox but all The Regulars had perfect scores too. I'm playing with Kimmo KAV, Bill MADDOG, and Paul PJ, (Dave COITUS doesn't have a board). They couldn't help me at all this game. Yikes! And Richard BERGIE won't be back in here for several weeks!

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp....3000/5000...12th/16...DBLE wins round with 4500.
OnBeat...8250/14000...7th/16...the six Regulars win this round. ELVIS is in the lead with
JukeBox...14250/20000...7th/16...many perfect rounds.
Triviaoke...20095/28000...7th/15...TIGER wins round and has 22677.

The answers to Encore come up. Well great, this is something about Bruce Springsteen. Kimmo KAV says Tunnel Of Love is Dire Straits, well maybe but Bruce has a song with that name too. At least I only need to bookmark under just one name. Kimmo compares how dim his Playmaker board is to mine.

Encore Question:..."My Best Was Never Good Enough" is the closing track on this Bruce Springsteen album:

Yeah as I talk over with members of our teams later, despite just receiving my Top Pop Singles 1955-1999 book this week, I'll still bring my Top Albums 1955-1996 book because of these types of questions. Each album is listed and the tracks are listed individually. It's really dark in here...the printing is microscopically small...I take my glasses off...it's on his 13th album...that is...yeah there it is. Quick tell my group, here comes Kim MOLSON/VIKING from the other team...tell them...I can even up for their help last week...Yep. Poor Kimmo can't get his board to answer.

Correct Answer:...5. The Ghost Of Tom Joad

[NTN Extra Fact:...Crushed dreams is the central theme of The Boss's acclaimed 1995 folk album.]

I finish 7th with 30143. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's standard. No individual rankings are given but I could pull them off the ntn.com site on Monday. The bar finishes 4th in North America with a 33247 average. (actually we displayed 3rd but there must have been a late score that bumped us by Monday). Joe TIGER wins, his Playback name always reverts to ENIGMA.

I've come to the Frog & Firkin with a Halloween costume. Black jeans, large plastic flower pot, a whip, and a black DEVO t-shirt. Get the idea? Yeah most folks knew who I was supposed to be. So I've put on some weight in the last 20 years but I looked ok. No such thing as a red flower pot but I picked up a clay coloured one earlier today. A few people including the bouncer thought it was actual pottery. Yeah, I was noticed as less than 10% of people were dressed up. Maybe they're waiting for the second party here Tuesday night.
