Tonight I'm in 2nd place and we're playing as one superteam with The Regulars and we control 12 boards. Maybe there are too many cooks as our scores aren't really high coming into the Encore. I've brought my music book but it's almost too dark to read. I'm using two boards for the first time and my other name is LITBOX. My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp....4500/5000...1st/15...in a first place tie with BERGIE, BEERME and MADDOG. OnBeat...9000/14000...9th/15...BEERME and BERGIE hold lead with 11000. JukeBox...14278/20000...6th/15...I win this round. Triviaoke...21174/28000...2nd/15...MADDOG takes the lead when he wins this round.
It was an unusual choice of Encore answers and everyone was in for 50%.
Question:...The "___________ Good Time Hour" was a prime time TV show from 1968 to 1972.
This was a committee decision but I should have had this. We thought of Andy Williams and that was our choice. I really felt bad as I'd seen this show when I was a kid and there was a biography on television of Glenn Campbell earlier in the month that I'd seen most of. Bill MADDOG was ready to switch his answer at the last second but just too late. We knew The Osmonds got their start on Andy Williams show but the date should have given it away.

I'm wrong and didn't even split my boards. LITBOX was already well behind (I think the board was tempermental but I'm writing this up in April 2000 so I've forgotten). I finish with 10587 which was 6378th in North America. I earn only 1500+ Players Plus points for not meeting tonight's 20000 point standard. The bar is 1650th and later in the week, I reviewed the NTN web site and realized that the right answer would have put us in 7th place! FLETT is right and I realize this was the board of Sheldon, a guy I've worked with in my day job a few times over the years. He arrived here with his spouse after the game had already started. I started another Player's Plus account on another board partway through the 9:00pm Wipeout game. I called myself LITBOX. I used this handle many years ago before my Joe Grinders days when my friends Rick and Randy would have dinner out and go to a bar before the movie started at the cinema. We discussed the legend that we couldn't use a swear word as a handle. I thought of something that they might not think of like CATPOO but that came up as a bad handle. I could have LITBOX for litter box. Other names I used back then were LTATE for Larry Tate to make fun of Rick who would always have an opinion on an answer. "It's 3, unless it's 2, no 4 or 5, well maybe 1.....there told you it was 2". Larry Tate was the 'yes man' boss on the Bewitched tv show.
I began to use ROCKET for the soccer team I supported and the reminder the NTN placement board gave me to the soccer standings. We'd often get there when a game was in progress and I'd start last and could often pass a few teams in the standings just like the Rockets on a winning streak during their season.
