Tonight I've taken the lead on the last question of Triviaoke by getting the lyrics to "Monday Monday" (twisting them with California Dreaming but 'not take me' was what I needed). I was playing with Richard (BERGIE) and Kimmo (KAV) with one board each as the bar had a lot of folks playing whom I'd never heard of before.
My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp....4000/5000....7th/17 in multi player tie...KAV, PLBAAB, MOLSON win round with 5000.
OnBeat...9500/14000...6th/17...CYCLER and PLBAAB win round...I get 6 right, 2 wrong, and 1 too afraid to answer (not good enough against the Regulars as PLBAAB already has 12750.
JukeBox...15496/20000...6th/17...I win this round...PLBAAB has lead at 17235.
Triviaoke...21376/28000...1st/15...BERGIE wins round.
I put 50% of my points on the line to this question. They've asked questions about the upcoming Grammies tonight so after seeing these names as answers I thought maybe here's another one.
Question:...What artist received the 'Award of Achievement' at this years American Music Award show?
Great finally an easy one! I remember watching this show last month. I still remember Mariah accepting the award and deflecting some of the applause to two kids from the 'Make A Wish' foundation sitting in her seat at the auditorium. I replayed the show on video later and saw that she had thanked the usual folks that every other star thanks. I hadn't realized that the first time but that was enough for it to stand out. I tipped the answer to my friends as this one I was sure of because I'd watched the show. Richard had helped me squeeze maybe 2000 points more than playing alone. This makes a big difference in the Encore round and final rankings. He also said I could catch the leaders after the OnBeat round when I said I was too far behind. I supposed the Regulars let PLBAAB/CYCLER sacrifice his score to cover any other possible answers.

I didn't know that. I thought they gave one or two out every year. I thought her award was called 'Artist of the 90s' but that was just one of the platitudes.
I win with 32064 points. That's good for 19th on the Top 20 board across North America. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this weeks 21000 point standard. The bar is 14th with a 29744 average. Most of our bar blew the American anthem (the one that uses the tune "John Brown's Body") in Triviaoke or we might have done even better. The individual rankings were not displayed.
